![](https://s3-nothing-prod.s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/2024-09-03/1725390081-709000-image.png "banner") ##### More than a year after [Ear (PC) launch](https://nothing.community/d/7185-ear-pc-unofficial-nothing-x-app-for-pc), we're launching Ear (web), our unofficial solution for Nothing/CMF Audio products users who want to adjust product settings, available on more devices with new features. **Available on more platforms through your Web Browser!** When it was launched, Ear (PC) was only available on Windows, which was a problem for MacOS/Linux users who wanted to use this project. Now it's not just an application, but a Web application! Following [Google's announcement of the availability of the SPP protocol with WebSerial on Chrome](https://developer.chrome.com/blog/serial-over-bluetooth?hl=fr), we started prototyping a port of the application and Ear (web) is precisely the result of this prototype and the good news is that it is available on all platforms provided you use a browser based on Chromium v117+, which includes **Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave and Arc** and on all the major PC operating systems such as **Windows, MacOS, Linux and ChromeOS**! As it's now a web application, you can use it on all PCs even if you don't have administrator rights, just enable Bluetooth and jump to a Chromium browser to use it. Updates won't be necessary either, as new content will be available as soon as it's ready on the web application. **New features:** Back in July 2023, Nothing introduced Advanced equalizer and Noise reduction for Ear (stick), as of latest release of Ear (PC), if you used Advanced equalizer , you couldn't switch back to a simple preset or switch to Advanced equalizer , this is now fixed, please note you still have to use Nothing X to setup Advanced equalizer. This is really cool, but disappointing the PC app is no longer supported, especially as a Firefox user. I won’t touch Chromium browsers.

Awesome app, I connected my nothing ear to the phone and changed a bunch of settings but then back on the website the settings are different, which settings is my mac acually using? the website’s or my phone’s?

CRlMSON What kind of settings did you change? They should persist across connected devices and saved on the buds

RapidZapper Sorry I think I found the reason why that was happening, as soon as I tried the website I bookmarked it and if I access it via my bookmark, it shows me the same information and whatever changes I make won’t apply. If I access the website again via the link on your post it always asks me to connect the earbuds once again but now it actually displays the correct settings and changing settings via the website works too.

CRlMSON Oh yeah, you should always access the website via the main page, I think I’ll add things to redirect to it if connection can’t be established due to direct access, glad to hear you found a fix!

Nice! ‌:D I have a question, though. Since you can use the headphones over USB-C with your PC, shouldn’t web serial be able to also communicate over that as well? Because I feel like it would be quite practical to not have to switch to Bluetooth just to change the settings! :p

im having the problem where no serial ports show up. Is there a fix for this?

My nothing ear (2)'s also dont wanna connect to my PC via bluetooth, but it does connect to my laptop via BT.

MateoVinson It’s possible it may be a browser issue, try to use a recent version of Chrome/edge
