I came from redmi 4 to phone 2 and please tell me how one-handed mode in phone 2 is helping you?

Redmi’s one-handed mode

  • You can choose the size.
  • Full screen is visible.
  • All the functions are usable.
  • You can shift to left or right on the go.

Phone 2’s one-handed mode

  • I can’t use key board.
  • I can’t access apps on the bottom.
  • Half of the screen is useless.

Phone 2 is huge and it must include great One-handed mode. I am Expecting alot of things from NOS 3.0. I bought phone 2 for powerful SOC and simple UI but simplicity must not kill highly usable features.

Hope devs will notice this post and include this on NOS 3.0. please do it.

Btw I wrote this 2nd time as when I switched to youtube and watched 1 min of video and came back chrome just restart and killed what I typed. Bad ram management.

One-handed mode used to look like Redmi’s one-handed mode you mentioned, which was standard on almost evey devices like Motorola, Lenovo and Xiaomi. But since Android 12, Google changed that and made it half baked useless one-handed mode. Nothing is using AOSP’S one-handed mode which is made by Google. If you want that old style one-handed mode then Nothing has to develop their own. I don’t think Google will change this thing any time soon.

I find it pretty useful as it is. Wondering why you need to use keyboard while one-handed mode is active. In my experience as soon you need the keyboard it goes back to full screen anyway.

Sourav_Satvaya oo that’s the thing. So I can’t expect in NOS 3.0. hopefully they will do this someday.
