Ha, I was waiting for this discussion 😉Apple releases signify to me why companies like Nothing exist, we are in ‘peak smartphone’, there’s only so much you can do with a rectangle and that’s why Apple, Google, etc, are looking at software enhancements and introducing artificial intelligence (& machine learning) vs. making dramatic hardware advancements as outside of going fold/flip there’s not a world you can do with the designs they’re invested in. I know people love to have a dig at the glyph interface but, it’s a distinct difference for Nothing which they can built on, scale up, scale down, etc.
The camera shutter button (what a throwback) will be a hit. It’s the perfect addition for a social media creators, and casual photographers alike, removing the need to scramble for the icon when you’re wanting to take a quick photo. I think we’ll see more manufactures implement similar.
I think we’ll continue to see a push for thinner bezels on more devices thanks to the 16 Pro. Although brands like Huawei are really ruling this space with their Pura line up.
As has been the same for the last few years, probably worth buying the base 16 vs. the pro’s. The 16 Plus probably won’t sell well and I’m sad about the Pro size bump from 6.1 > 6.3. The iPhone continues to be one of the best designed phones in the world with a good software/hardware combination.
If we speak more than the iPhone, I will say Apple continue to dominate in the watch market, a think very few manufactures can get remotely close to where they are with their wearable tech.
