I have found that my nothing phone 2 touch sometimes won’t click or responds while typing and scrolling

I’m having the exact same issue with the touch… I have to end up forcing phone off as that’s the only fix I’ve found when it happens… this needs fixing asap. Part of me wishes I bought the Xperia 10 V instead as this is doing my head in and I’ve only owned the phone 2 for a week…

I spent 45000 INR for this phone.i was confused between one plus 11r and np2..but due to your CEO words and customer satisfaction (as it appeared that time)..I preferred this np2..but kindly look into this touch problem.

I need to click multiple times at a spot to open any app..at next point of time problem resolved at that spot but appear somewhere else…

Kindly look into the issue..

Derren is there any update regarding this issue or not. Because frankly I’m tired of waiting it’s been 3 months since you guys are aware of this issue. I bought this phone in a country where you don’t officially operate so I’m stuck with this phone as I can’t even return it.

I demand an official update on the matter. I didn’t spend almost 500$+ on a futuristic phone for it to have touch issues right out of the box.

Np1 has the same problem, which leads to the conclusion that it may be software, but since there is no return on this issue, it is definitely hardware. Let’s wait and see.

ShaikAnsar I am not using any screen protector (unable to find one) and am still facing this issue. It was difficult for me to notice, but when my gamer friend used my phone. he confidently said that the touch definitely had an issue. now it is also obvious to me. I think and hope it’s a software issue, not the hardware one.

Same issue for me with my new Nothing Phone (2)

Gonna try the phone without the glass for a few days to see if it works better. If there won’t be any solution for this i’m sadly gonna refund it. It’s actually such a great phone but that touch issue is so annoying.

Regardless whether it’s software or hardware, there is a confirmed problem & this company needs to get the damn thing fixed, it’s been going on for months now, what exactly is Nothing doing about it!!!

As we received response from our technical team:

"If your phone’s touch screen is not responding properly while typing and scrolling, here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Hardware self-test: Sometimes touchscreen hardware failures can cause unresponsive touch screen functionality. Please check if there are any abnormalities in the touchscreen: Dial ##19##, if the test result shows PASS, then the hardware is functioning properly, if it shows Fail, then it indicates a touchscreen hardware failure.

Remove screen protector: If you are using a third-party screen protector, it may affect the touch screen sensitivity, try removing them to see if it improves touch responsiveness. It is recommended to use the official protective protector for better touchscreen performance.If convenient, please provide a purchase link for the protective protector so that we can buy it for testing and verification, thereby further enhancing the product experience.

Check Apps: If you frequently encounter issues while using a certain app or in a specific scenario, please try upgrading the app to the latest version. Also clear the cache of the apps you are facing issues with. Go to the phone settings, find the app in the application manager, and clear its cache.Also if possible, provide the name of the app in which the problem occurs.

Checking if the phone is overheating: When the phone is operating under high load, the touchscreen sensitivity may be affected. If the phone is in a heated state. It is recommended to close any unnecessary apps running in the background and keep your phone away from direct sunlight to reduce the phone’s temperature. Then observe if the touchscreen returns to normal.

5.Confirming surrounding interference: Large electromagnetic appliances, charging, etc., can potentially cause interference to the touchscreen. Please avoid such situations to see if there is any improvement in touchscreen issues.

Restart your phone: A simple restart can often fix minor software glitches that may be causing the touch screen issue. Hold down the power button and select the restart option.

If the problem still persists after trying these steps, please share a log for further analysis

Guide to capturing a Touch Panel log(For touchscreen malfunction):
Go to Settings->About Phone->Nothing OS-> click build number 7 times to enable developer, system->developer options->input(enable “show taps” & “pointer location”)

Input ##569##>>Touch Panel
Turn on “Screenshot” & “Record screen”
Select “NO REBOOT”
Reproduce the issue (keep the log kit running in the background)
When the issue appears, please help save a screenshot (Press the Volume- & Power buttons)
Dial ##569## to go back to the log kit (or tap the one in the notification bar) and tap “Stop capture"" and wait for “Log saved”
Tap “OK” when the log is generated
Turn back to the “Log tool” interface and tap the top right corner>>Log list>>long-press the log file we need>>copy>>ok
Open File Manager and find it under the folder internal storage-NtShareLog Choose the log captured just now
Upload the log file on Google Drive and share the link with us.
If it is convenient, please use another mobile phone to record the entire process of reproducing the issue and obtaining the log. Then, send us the video. Thank you.

omer.e Some of these are laughable, surrounding interference, get a grip, we don’t all live inside the hadron collider.

They’ve been sent videos of people test the screen & it clearly shows the touchscreen issues, the guys had new phone afaik since & the same issues are apparent.

This official reply to me is just a sidestepping tactic to avoid taking responsibility that there is a wiser issue happening & they don’t want to take responsibility.

Also again I’ll state, I turned on Dev touch circles & axis touch features & it still showed touches but the phone didn’t react to them.

They’re trying to put the onus on us which is typical of a hardware company dragging out a known problem to avoid taking responsibility.

This is actually what I’ve been saying for months & imho it’s why I was removed ridiculously from the discord server, I don’t like the way this brand is treating us as handset owners & I don’t like the fact they’re ignoring real hardware problems all the while their CEO is galavanting around the world doing actually Nothing to help us.

Too many people are now complaining about this problem, how many will it take for them to take it seriously.
