GenaldReiVillaluz Currently the Nothing OS’ Dark Mode is not truly black, it is rather gray on the dark areas of the UI. Bringing true dark mode on the NOS will not just enhance the aesthetic but also the battery life of our Nothing phones with their AMOLED/OLED displays.
TA_RUN GenaldReiVillaluz Yes a totally black screen in OLED or amoled with monochrome theme will be great!!! Also will save lots of battery too
CharanTeja_axnXtCuAtM GenaldReiVillaluz Iam not understanding why Carl Pei is not giving pure black theme… even it’s helpful for battery backup also it’s really looking like ugly feeling like a LCD Screen
AlexMrngstr69 Also, how about forcing dark mode on individual apps even though they don’t support. Man this used to be great feature on Oxygen Os 11. Where we could force them under dark mode. And this didn’t reset even on restart. I know we can go under developer options and set override force dark mode. But that resets under restart. Also it doesn’t work on all apps. Plus we cant set for individual apps. May be this feature can be renamed as ‘Monochrome mode’ for apps. Just an idea from my side.
AlexMrngstr69 Or maybe the monochrome mode may force apply the colors of the app intelligently to black ,red and white theme based on black mostly. Similar to other nothing apps like nothing x,recorder etc
HarshitGautam I think nothing should consider adding black dark mode instead of greyish dark mode , iphone, samsung and oneplus all of them are providing this feature.
chan Nothing phone 2 has always gray shades every screen and apps, it sports quality hardware but no option to use its full potential. still works like an LCD display. It is sin if this device is not given a clear dark mode.
Heera chan that’s what I also pointed. Company says it’s an amoled display but looks like LCD display. No colour enhancement for video play. Camera photo stills are whitewashed can’t recognise human objects properly.
Joshua_KUZ1xedSrt I just Got the Nothing Phone 2 and Already regretting ot due to non remoble Navigation Bar and Its Grey Theme which is like lcd display. Whats the use of oled display without pitch black theme.
Vi I was wondering why there is no AMOLED/pure black in the system settings, then I remembered I had seen that on my wife’s OnePlus. Honestly baffling that this is missing
LuisVirvum When you used the dark mode, the pixels do not turn off to take advantage of the amoled screen, it only changes to a gray color but it is not pure black, it is an error of the Nothing Phone 2 or that is what the dark mode is like
Nickman Yeah the dark mode default integration by Google is nonsense. It’s not dark it’s pretentious dark. Hope they work on this as it obviously saves a lot of battery.
GordonLutz I prefer it the way it is. No need for it to be totally black, doesn’t use more battery obviously, the battery life is phenomenal as is.
Nickman GordonLutz The individual pixels lighting up to produce gray light don’t consume battery? Seems like a provocative logic. Anyways I’ll take your word for it, may be
RajeshRkurup It would very nice if we can set dark mode to pitch black theme. The Aesthetics of Nothing OS really matches Pitch Black. Also the QS panel is always on dark mode, please rework it too. It will be good if the QS panel also changes theme with respect to dark or light mode.
CAPremchandKasi That really helps, Nothing should work on it asap, Glad many of us are expecting this to happen
RohitPatil_lCFqJ6neM9 Nothing team please look forward to it. It would be a great addition many users prefer black shade over grey as it is more battery efficient and looks better and also bring a feature through which we could force pitch black theme (amoled) in other apps too. Reddit provides this Midnight (amoled) theme i am using it and its awesome. It would be amazing if we could use this on every app.
