I have just got this phone 2 days ago. On the latest 2.5.2 update. The battery life is insanely good. Even compared to s23+ and Honor magic6 lite. I have read many reports on Reddit stating that after system updates it can take a week for the system to stabilise on the nothing phone 2 for the battery to increase
Phone (2) - Battery Drain Discussion

Seed19 Exactly the battery backup is good after I factory reset my phone yesterday. They screwed up somewhere in upgrading from 13 to 14 and failed miserably after successive updates. All the new owners were praising that the battery backup is extremely good and thats when I knew that the solution is only factory reset. Dear Nothing, your tech is not getting fun.
Nothing users please Factory reset your phone for the battery drain bug. Nothing support will not tell you this. There is no other solution and you have to do it for before you degrade your battery.
Daniel I updated it when it was available. I am starting to wonder how it changed from day and a half of battery life to less than a day. After seeing some posts like yours, I think I will wait untill the end of the month before trying to make a factory reset as some other people are suggesting.
Hopefully I can come earlier and tell that the phone has stabilized without that reset, fingers crossed
totalsandy any idea on how to back up the date before doing a factory reset. I have all the important data in my phone. I’m not sure how to do a reset without losing the data. Any suggestion will be appreciated.
SumanthKumar_qSDi3pi9oJ I would recommend using Google services if you have access to them, such as Google Drive and Google Photos.
There is also a Google backup option In your phones settings, double check that to see exactly what data is being backed up.
Hey everyone!!
I’m not happy with the battery of NP2 since the latest update 2.5.2. The battery back-up become so bad. It harly gives me 3-4 hours of SOT in moderate usage. Before that it was around 6-7 hours of SOT with ease. I already mailed to the technical department they have only few steps to do which is already done and nothing happening I hope in coming updates they’ll make this battery.
Hi nothing team
I’ve bought nothing phone 2 a month ago. I’ve been facing a lot of battery issues since two weeks. Battery is draining too much while hotspot is turned on. Like 10% in 15 minutes. Please look into this ASAP

Just bought the N2 2 days ago. After all the updates, I see that the battery is draining like a flowing river. It’s concerning me. Given I’m not a heavy user. I mostly use, YT, Insta, Snapchat, calls for 30min to 1hr in a day, Some chrome and e commerce apps. I observed the drain rate to be 10%/1hr which is crazy.
Can you share your battery usage ?
It is maybe another apps that drain the battery in the background.
Also bear in mind that Android needs to figure out your usage before optimizing the battery
After the 2.5 update, the animations are jittery, battery life has worsened, also heating is more
This is not acceptable for 45k phone
Been facing this for the past few months
Is this a known issue or is something wrong with my unit?? If so please try to address this in the immediate update
This is my 2nd time posting here, last time you guys had given steps to provide battery log info which was not working for me
MohamedBilal I have no issue my self, even while playing long game sessions.
Can you share your battery usage per-app basis ?
Also are you using 5G ? It can cause heating.
Do you use a lot of camera / video shooting ?

In settings it shows youtube, Instagram and web browsing apps take up most of my battery
For around a month I was on 4g and mostly used wifi for internet, but since there was little to no gains in battery compared to 5g i switched back.
But the thing that bothers me more is the stutters/low frame rates in animations which makes the phone feel unrefined. This happens while pulling down the notification bar, scrolling etc and is quite frequent. I was expecting this phone to have smooth animations with 8+ gen 1, LTPO panel and a premium price
Its not that my phone is unusable, but I’m more disappointed in the software for the price and what the company promised
Also I don’t use the camera much

MohamedBilal I don’t have any of the lag that you are referring too. Pulling down the notification bar is smooth as hell all the time, even after playing session and multitasking. Some apps can have stutter, and it’s due to their lack of optimization in android. But definitely no problem when it comes to Google or native apps.
From what you are referring : battery drain and lag. You definitely have something going on in the background (90% chance). Can you go to system > developper options > running services (I don’t know the name in english). You should have there every app that are actually running on your phone.
Battery life sucks
