I think they really need to push an update or help us enable features to restrict apps. Until now, there is no option for modes where we can choose from balanced to optimized, no background app freeze option, etc. The battery chart has been inconsistent for months after Android 14. It’s very hard to know the proper Screen on Time …. I always have to check Digital Wellbeing to know how long I have used the screen, or download Franco Kernel Manager to know my sot. On average, I get about 4-6 hours of screen on time from 100% to 20%.
I spend most of my time on my phone, but I don’t play games…—mostly social media, emails, and other stuff. I have no idea why the battery is draining so quickly, and I have to charge it twice a day, I usually experience heating issues during normal social media consumption. I used to have an 8 Gen 1 phone before the NP2. The only reason I opted for NP2 was the 8 Plus Gen 1, which I heard is made by TSMC and has better thermals under control, as Samsung’s 8 Gen 1 was known for overheating. Still, I don’t feel like there’s a big improvement.
Above all, I trusted this brand. Yes, this phone doesn’t throttle much, but recently I have experienced some frame drops after it heats up. I just wish this device could last for three years. I usually hate using the same phone for years, but I wish I could use this one for at least three years without issues. I need a better battery and a smooth experience without stutters. Only a good, well-checked software update can fix these problems! Please listen to your users. I know you want to sell more phones every year, but first, establish yourselves. Make us use a phone for at least three years without any hiccups, so we can invest more in your ecosystem and help you grow. Yes, NP 2 is a great device, but a good iPhone lasts 5 years, which is why people love Apple. At least try to gain a user base and bring back the old vision that Carl Pei had when he worked with OnePlus. A friend of mine still uses a OnePlus 6T. He said it doesn’t lag or stutter even after 5 years. I just wish I could be the next one to tell this story like he did to me.
