Can a software update bring eSIM support?

I want the E-SIM option in NOTHING PHONE 2a it is a possibility of the e sim from the software update if the yes so please community member give the update and introduce e sim function is very important in phone theft its very useful 🥺

KINGCLAN E-sim support is totally dependent on hardware and nothing phone 2a hardware doesn’t support E-sim.

Phone 2A doesn’t support e-sim but, I’d certainly submit your feedback via settings > system > feedback…. It ensures that the right teams see it and, you never know, we might see it in future phones!

There is no support, it’s just to change the phone to the new models that will come out with esim support in the future.

ESIM requires hardware on phone, it cant be there with software update.
and how in phone theft it is useful? I don’t think it gives any advantage in theft.
and no its impossible to have esim if theres no hardware.

According to this X post , the OMAPI support are implemented on (2) but not (2a), which is essencial for managing removable eSIM card such as 5ber and eSTK.me.

Will (2a) get OMAPI support?

Whilst Nothing phones don’t have the built-in hardware for an eSIM, there are providers that supply an eSIM module that fits in to a traditional SIM card slot. These may possibly be activated via a software update, as I have seen a couple of threads on the community saying that they support some Nothing devices.

Just updated to Nothing OS 3.0 beta and found 2a got OMAPI support,

Now I can manage my removable eSIM’s profile with apps (I use EasyEUICC,5ber or something else should work too)

AliceKagurazaka hi, can you actually confirm thats you can use esims with the nothing phone 2a throug 5ber? Beacause on the official page of 5ber nothing phones arent supported 🙁

VladislavBodrug I’m using eSTK.me and it works fine with 3rd party management app(I’m using EasyEUICC)

theoritically, 5ber should work since they use the same implementation of how app access the eSIM. (I dont have 5ber for testing)

Hi if you donwload the 5ber app you can check if your device is compatible or not. The Nothing phone 2a with android 15 is compatible , at least is what the app notify…

I have the 5ber card and I ´ve used with nothing phone 2a but was before the android 15 update, I ve used my old phone to configure it.

Actually i dont have a Nothing 2A yet, im using an Oppo Reno 6 5G but its starting to die and i love the nothig series so i wanted to check if they have this feature beacause id like to have it. I also tried 5Ber on my actual phone but it doesnt work for some reason, it opens but id doesnt sends me the verification email. but i could verify throug easyEUICC that probably it is compatible so probably i wont have any problems. Anyway thx for the response.May i ask you what phone did you use to configure the sim? beacuse this will probably also be a problem.

Was an old sony xperia z2 compact, but as I told you the 5ber app notify than the Nothing phone 2a is fully compatible.

CMF1 and Phone 2a Plus are about to receive an OS 3.0 fix/update, let us know if 5ber works.
