Introducing Phone (2a) Plus Community Edition
Sad it’s not coming to the US… looks amazing!
Natalie
India - Phone (2a) Plus Community Edition will be sold via Flipkart.
And that’s the only reason I’m not buying this one. Either sell it on your own website like other region on sell it somewhere else other than Flipkart.

Mattia sorry mate, but in my eyes. your reputation is already tarnished, and now really going downward especially after reading your post.
- You guys have a concept of making a transparent design, transparent tech, etc, yet you guys couldn’t be transparent bout this phone.
- What does community mean to you guys really ffs? Is this CE for the Nothing Community? Or only a community based at certain locations? If so don’t call it a CE, it’s Limited but inspired by community.
- You wrote “I wanted to clarify that the limited production of 1,000 units” and “We want to keep experimenting with Community Edition and bring it to as many people as we can” in the same post. You’re contradicting yourself here, so cut the BS, is this limited or will there be more production and available to more regions?
- “we took a decision on production that would ensure we would not dilute resources.” why so rushed into production phase? You could’ve made it pre-order for a certain period. If u really wanted to test and grow your community, you could’ve as an example set a minimum order (ex: 1000) amount for each region. Let your community do the advertising and help you guys get that minimum order. In return you could see the strength of your community.
- “unfortunately US was not viable this time, and we took the decision to exclude from sales with a heavy heart.” I guarantee the unlucky ones would understand if you were transparent about this and admit that this is Limited and not for the whole community.
Be careful on how you communicate with your audience, all your concepts, vision, etc will go down the drain if you don’t.

I understand your point. If I were in your position, I would likely feel some frustration as well. However, the Nothing team has done everything they can. Nothing is a very young company, and its scale is by no means large. In theory, they might be able to increase production, but I believe there are many constraints they face that we aren’t aware of. Creating a product is incredibly complex.
For example, regarding the (2a) CE, it’s not just a simple color change of the usual (2a). There must have been challenges beyond our imagination to reach this point. It’s very unfortunate that it’s not available in your country. In Japan, we have the (2a) base model instead of the (2a) Plus. While it’s better than nothing, there are still some frustrations.
So, what can we do? Of course, sending feedback to the team is essential. However, excessively strong feedback might make both the Nothing team and those of us here uncomfortable. Perhaps what we can do next is to spread the word about how amazing this project is. If users in your country increase, distribution channels will expand. It’s very important for any company to make a profit.
As a community member, now is the time to show what you’re capable of! I look forward to seeing the impact you can make
No Indonesia 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
Incredibly excited for this!! There’s been proper talent on display at every stage of the Community Edition. Great to see it out in the open and excited to see what the future of Community Editions holds.

Nothing is a very young company
Yes indeed, luckily they’re still young and small. Yet they can’t communicate this properly to such a small community and seem like dividing their own community? Imagine Apple doing this to their community. The bigger they are the harder the harder they fall.

This has nothing to do with the transparency and delivering of information about this project. This is a phase in design collaboration with the community.

It’s very unfortunate that it’s not available in your country.
Like I said, Carl Pei was part of Oppo and 1+ and they are available here, he should know how to enter our country, he should already know the market

I’m sorry but I speak my mind and I try to speak objectively as possible. Excessively strong feedback? Then this should be considered for improvements. If you feel uncomfortable cause of feedback and can’t handle being out of your comfort zone then it’s going to be extremely difficult for you to improve yourself.

Why in the world would I want to advertise or recommend something that I don’t even buy into? Why would I preach something I don’t believe in? Sorry mate, but like I said I speak my mind, and I have standards and values.
IMHO, nowadays, tech businesses aren’t just about tech. I think it’s more about a community business. Look at all the companies out there, is there any technology that only one company has and the others don’t? I think no. So what makes them different and have their own market share? It’s how they present/deliver their technology to their audience, service their audience and building and maintaining their relationships with their communities. You guys are still very young, like you just hatched out of an egg. You got more time to improve, but mark my words, take care in how you communicate to your community and what you plan for your community.

Sorry mate, I don’t feel like a “Nothing Community” member. I feel like one of the “left behind community”.
Ealesy101 Congratulations on the creation of this phone, it’s what we need, something original, unique and special, it’s a shame they will only sell 1,000 units of it because I saw it as an option to change from Samsung to Nothing, because the truth is that a normal 2a plus doesn’t catch my attention like this phone.
Hello, Nothing team!
Is there any chance the Phone (2a) Community Edition might see a global release? With the likelihood of a 2a Plus model seeming low, it would have been great to know earlier if the Community Edition was limited to only 1,000 units.
it look like ben 10 phone 1, but great work by nothing.
Nothing should make the black version of the Phone 2A Plus community edition, and 1000 units are not enough! As demands.
Natalie it’s super cool, got my Phone1 when it was released, it’s time to say goodbye, will it be available in Hong Kong too?
looks amazing
Massive congratulations to all the winners, it’s definitely my favourite 2a!
