Introducing Phone (2a) Plus Community Edition

Mattia “US not viable at this time” really? The US hasn’t been since the original 2a released let alone this CE edition which is based on the 2a Plus device. It’s surely not a case that CE specifically wasn’t viable but the whole mobile phone market in the US by Nothing for some reason. I hope for potential customers in the NA region, not just US, but Canada and Mexico will be able to get Phone 3 atleast and it has a better global launch and availability.

I received saying an email saying I would be in the tranche of people able to order and that a link would be sent to me. It didn’t happen. What gives?

I spend about £2500/mo for nursery/preschool fees, so it’s all peanuts anyway.

dsychin I found a Japanese online article that says there will be in-store sales, and I would like to know the truth. I hope it will be sold in stores!

halnici PR times is a pretty reliable source since the content should come directly from Nothing Japan so it is quite likely that this is true. In the original post of this thread, it was mentioned that more physical locations would be added.

dsychin went through the whole thread, not sure where it says more physical locations would be added. the mods mentioned twice that 1000 is 1000 limited due to resource constraints, only that the community edition wallpapers will be released in the future.

I ordered on flipkart ( India ) but my order is still processing and it says it’s put on hold and hasn’t even been confirmed yet even though Ive already done the payment too :/

honestly, I’m angry and new to the NOTHING ecosystem. I would’ve paid to show this phone 2aCE in front of the 400 students I teach. just late to the party I guess and my own fault.

sadly, it seems I need to fly to family to Japan immediately to resolve this issue.

I should dispatch some colleagues/friends around Europe/US instead.

Natalie I’m gutted i couldn’t get one…sat by my email all day and occasionally refreshing the store at the same time. If there’s no more to be had (i’m in N. Ireland so popping to Soho is a tad expensive, otherwise i’d camp out all night!) then i’ll just get he regular 2a+, i was putting it off until i was certain i couldn’t get a glowie. Regardless of my devastation, congratulations to all who did snag one, especially the talented winners of the competition. I’m in awe of what you have achieved and Nothing really needs a round of applause for nurturing such talent! I’m now off to tie a glow stick to my CMF1….

I think that it is must to make and sell more of this phones, many community members that want to buy it just not be able to do this.

Only 25 units are up for grabs here in the Philippines. I am not a lucky person, so I am most definitely expecting not to get one. In that case, will there be any more color variants for the Phone2aPlus in the future? Black and silver-grey look meh for me. I like the white and the CE.

Mine got delivered in a 16 hours after ordering. My Wife received from the Delivery Agent. She was saying the colour and hardware design is Retro and cozy to the eyes. Hello, I would like to ask if the Phone (2a) Plus Community Edition comes with the latest version? What is the difference in software between the Phone (2a) Plus and the Community Edition? How many updates will there be, and when can we expect Nothing OS 3.0? Please provide a bit more information about it.

G_Stamatov - Hey, the Community Edition ships with Nothing OS 2.6, out of the box. In terms of software, it is no different to the standard (2a) Plus, they run the same OS.

However, with regards to how many updates, it is the usual 3 Years of Software Updates and 4 Years of Security Updates, as per all Nothing SmartPhones.

NothingOS 3.0 for Phone (2a) Plus is due for Beta in December and general release is TBC.

G_Stamatov The “brain” of the hardware is the same so you sohuld be able to download the current 3.0 (Android 15) beta as you would with the standrd 2(a) or 2(a) plus - I am running it on my 2a and it’s close to being fully stable and not buggy. Just my take….I could be wrong / often am!

Wanna grab the community edition phone, kindly suggest where to purchase.. very much interested to pick this phone up….

Tomorrow it arrives, I’ll take a closer look and write a review.

I want community edition, It will be great, get chance to use it.

If this isn’t available to U.S.-based customers, how can we consider ourselves part of the community? It feels like we’re being excluded.

I just listened to Carl Pei on youtube speak about the nothing phone. Genuinely impressed.
Can we expect this in France as well? Do you have the window for a few more participants?
