I’m generally an anti-notifications guy and have lately disabled most of the notifications on my phone. I often decline apps sending me notifications just to avoid being spammed continuously. I’ve set up a nice system with ‘Focus Mode’ on my iPhone to prevent being distracted by most of the noise while in a certain mode. Some notifications however, are always allowed since they don’t disturb me and rather keep me updated stuff that are important.
As the main screen of Ear (1) app don’t always show the battery status of the case as lid is often closed (and I rarely open the app to check) I’m often getting lost in when I need to connect my case to power.
I’ve found myself needing to charge them twice in last weeks unaware that the case needed charging - which isn’t bad at all! However, I got lost twice on important phone calls where I was commuting, so both occations my case was out of power (and so my buds as well….) so I had to join a conference call holding the phone to my ear since I didn’t carry any spare cable headphones..
What would you think of pushing alerts to the user to remind about charging, just like AirPods does by alerting about low battery level? I have started to use widgets more and more together with ‘Focus Mode’, which could be neat?! Any other ideas on how to not run out of battery except being very good at charging them more often?
(I know these only show for AirPods with low battery in buds and not battery status of the case, as well as when they’re connected)
I think some kind of reminder (other than the sound effects of buds starting to go low on battery) would be good. Do you agree or would that just be a notification you would turn of after a while?
