so its been about a month since I’ve been using the new beta nothing OS 3.0 and I must say, it was a good decision that Nothing waited to perfect it for NP2 while they initially released it only for NP2a.

here are some points i liked about this update:

  • the new quick settings is indeed good, i wish the color scheme were better planned though. some icons show white while some show red. but it’s understandable because the settings that show red color are either nothing’s unique quick settings like glyph or DND and focus mode.
  • lockscreen: i love how i can customize and put more things in my lockscreen now. but they need to bring back the old clock as well, it was pretty.
  • font: even though i dig with the new font, i miss the n-dot.
  • system: I’ve been checking up on average RAM and CPU usage ever since i started using this update and i must say, it is very well optimised for a beta software. kudos to that 👏🏻
  • camera: now i have faced a lot of trouble with my camera recently. the pictures get blurry with noise and extra sharpening in low light. there’s less color grading in HDR modes. i like how its supporting third party camera apps like blackmagic camera but other than that, they need to fix camera again.
  • request: you need to add a music widget for lockscreen, and add a feature where i can add a song to my liked playlist by double tapping.

thank you. xoxo

josecordoba honestly, not bad. the new feature where i can stop charging automatically at a certain battery level helps me with keeping the battery health good, while I can’t say much about the runtime because i keep my phone docked to the wireless charger, so i barely run out of battery all day

Loving the Nothing phone 2 and everything it offers so far, but there’s one feature that could take it to the next level. It’d be incredible to have the option to add custom fonts and change emojis in NothingOS 3.0. Being able to download and use your own fonts would allow for more personal customization and creativity, while a wider selection of emojis would give users the ability to truly make their device reflect their style. Having control over these small but impactful aspects would make the phone feel even more unique to each individual user. A step towards complete personalization would make the #NothingPhone even more awesome! Keep pushing the boundaries!

Kind of an unrelated question: Will nothing pre install both nothing gallery and google photos on np3? If you do that it kind of feels a bit weird.

Sounds a cool idea but the problem comes with design and the alignment of the components of the UI, the spacing and sizing of fonts vary a lot between them and could potentially break the UI if not tested well

      Hi

As the title says, screen stays on. I have AOD disabled. The phone does lock though.

      Steps to reproduce:
      - Tap the power button so screen goes in to lock
      - (observe: screen locks & screen is off)
      - tap the screen, probably accidentally
      - observe: screen goes into pin code / finger scanner mode forever. screen stays on

Additinally, seems like the lock timeout isn’t working either, so I always have to manually lock my phone, even though it is set to 15 seconds.

Any tips on how I can fix this?

      Hi,

Option to disable swipe down on lock screen is already available.

Settings ->Lock screen ->Quick Settings (swipe down on lock screen to view quick settings)

Hope it is also available in NOS 3.0.

Hello everyone, i had been seen this black img of earphones, awhile. Is it a new stile or something? Maybe someone knows how to fix it?

Maybe it’s an experimental feature. The AirPods support feature (shows the AirPods version and battery), but you can’t see its image here, just its shadow. This may be because it is still in beta.

pandaseishin hey mate, I’d imagine it’s a small bug and not the intented experience. It looks like you’re using OS 3.0 so, that might be expected. Log it via settings > system > feedback 🙂
