In Nothing OS3 Beta 1 , Quick settings icons changes on its own and some gets disappeared

Merged 1 post from Quick settings panle bug .

The media player is not aligned properly with the quick settings. The margin is not similar to the quick settings which makes it look awkward.

And also in the screenshots shared by carl , 3 months before had a gradient background based on media player which was nice.

I think the quick settings has more margin than other elements in the ui. Because notifications, media player and all other elements has same margin.

If there is no space, there is no way to enlarge the quick setting toggles. If auto align feature is included, then it would be better. Because now even there is a possibility of empty spaces

Also pls include one more row of toggles in the first swipe along with brightness bar.. that would be handy

Also the contrast between the cards and background is too high in dark mode. This is more awkward in the app lock pin popup.

Merged 1 post from NOS 3.0 Phone 2.

Rob ⚡️ My Always On Display (AOD) stop working, i still see the unlock circle with the new dot thing, but there are no more Watch and widgets.

Can anyone tell me if this bug is fixed yet or not?

IF NOT PLEASE NOTHING TEAM FIX THIS🥹

This bug has been present even before NOS 2.5, but this bug hasn’t been resolved even after sending multiple feedbacks.

So when you use Smallest Font Size and Smallest Display Size the icons and text does not change at the top status bar. It just the changes the battery percentage text and the time text other than that the icons remains unchanged, and when you swipe down the status bar to open control centre the battery text over there doesn’t change its NOT the smallest font size.

I have screen recorded the things so it is easier for developers to understand.

Ideally when you change the font size the icons, texts all the things should getter smaller/bigger depending on the option selected.

To give example you can see google pixels phone when you change the font size it changes the status bar icons as well as the text. Which should be the IDEAL case.

As a developer i think this might be because since Nothing is using 2-3 different fonts here and there it might be causing the issue.

So I hope this will help Nothing Developers to solve this bug.

And I am writing this there as in the feedback there is no option to uplad the video and I think this screen recording will help developers and team members to resolve the bug faster.

Note: I have already sent the feedback using the System Path but since it hasn’t been solved even before NOS 2.5.

      Screen recording:

I’m really excited about NOS 3.0 coming to the Phone (2), but I’m also sad because I can’t participate in the beta program because of some kind of bug occuring during the installation process.

Problem is that whenever I download the APK file from nothing community site and I want to update, after the installation is complete and the phone wants to reset it is stuck on some kind of loading screen instead of actually booting into the system.

I’ve tried to install it 3 times and all of them didn’t go well. Everytime I’ve needed to do a factory reset to even make my phone function properly again.

So I’m still stuck on NOS 2.6. I would really much appreciate any kind of help on what could I do to successfully update my Phone (2).

        Rob ⚡️

        1. They should add a done button to confirm lockscreen customisation edits.

        2. Will we get ‘auracast’ feature for our phones. Android 15 has that option for audio sharing to multiple bluetooth devices.

        3. I think that the spacing and alignments are weird when using different font sizes. Also the media player alignment. Example of one instance -

        1. The nothing community login from the profile inside of settings do not work as of now.

        2. Compression of apps not implemented yet.

        3. Please add the old clock as an option to the lockscreen clocks.

        4. Please consider more system fonts as option or the feature to add custom ones.

Thanks to the dev team working on Nothing OS 3.0 it is already pretty good. Love the way it looks and works even in beta. Hoping to see more stuff added into the mix in the near future.

        Feature Request -

        1. Please bring a contact sharing feature via NFC like the one iPhones use (namedrop)
        2. Maybe some special glyph effects or something when two nothing phones come in contact.
        3. Option to disable the swipe down on lock screen
        4. Password before shutdown while locked

Surprised by how stable this beta version is!

          1. I feel like the camera quality has taken a massive nosedive, especially in portrait mode, it looks way too over-processed and artificial for my liking. Would be great if it was kept more natural and maybe kept this artificial high contrast thing as an option.
          2. I also think it’s time for us to have glyph progress support for major music streaming apps and swiggy.
          3. The nothing music widget keeps causing Spotify to crash.
          4. The artist name gets cut in half on the default Spotify widget when it’s on the 4x grid and the artist name goes missing on the 5x grid, been having this issue since I got the phone.
          5. Would be great to have some vertical nothing widgets instead of only the square or horizontal ones.
          6. More camera widgets instead of only the 35mm road trip one.
          7. Tinted icons apart from the dark or light nothing ones.
          8. Live wallpapers created by Nothing.
          9. Different options and settings for dark mode to make it darker or lighter
          10. Better battery life, at this point I feel like this may not even be possible.

That’s all at the top of my head for now.

I’ve been running this on my NP2 since about 10 last night my time. It’s stable and the UI is smooth. I haven’t played around too much between work and freaking about some other thing going on, maybe over the weekend I’ll get to put it through its paces.

I like that it looks more organised and feels smother ..

The lockscreen clocks look abit bold and out of proportion ..

It definitely needs seperate options for adjusting size ..

1 For the home screen icons ..

2 For the app drawer icons ..

3 For the Font size ..

I think adding fonts instead of removing fonts would have been a better option .. more variety .. the majority actually loved the NDOT FONT ..

HOPEFULY THE NOTHING TEAM STARTS LISTENING ITS COMMUNITY A LITTLE BETTER ..

I’ve noticed that the brightness slider can be seen under music player and I don’t think it should be visible. See the screen recording below.

          I’m on Phone 2, OS 3.0

Firu Hey mate, as seen as you’re testing the beta, I’d suggest logging this as product feedback via settings > system > feedback. This ensures the right teams can take a look, troubleshoot and rectify if required 🙂 Always good to send beta feedback directly to the team!
