Let’s be clear - Transparency is nothing without a teardown and thats why iFixit just posted another of their infamous teardown guides, this time, the victim subject of their destruction is ear (1) - giving us our first look at the parts that are usually hidden beneath the non-transparent elements.

They even made a pun which I really like to include here: “Nothing of the nothing broke during our disassembly”.  Which is a good sign to not end up with a broken device at the end, even if you won’t be able to glue it so perfectly like a machine at the factory.

The repairability isn’t the greatest, but everyone with simple DIY repair skills should still be able to do it!

But putting the repairability aside for now: Which of those parts would you have liked to see behind a transparent case which are now hidden? The answer „Everything“ won’t count! Decide for your “highlight”!

(Thanks to @Rob ⚡️ for the title and help! as well iFixit for doing a teardown 😄)

I’ve been waiting a long time to see inside that charging case! Thanks for sharing Kastello!

It’s cool to see the Nothing logo on the battery cell (perhaps it’s custom-made?) And interesting that we have an oblong-shaped charging coil! My favorite part of the guide was step 8 - seeing that stacked assembly inside the earbud stem - very satisfying!

I feel like I now have even more appreciation for the superb design/engineering that went into ear (1)! 🙏
