Just replaced my Android 9 Huawei with a 2a. Spent most of last evening looking for scheduled power on/off setting. Really surprised it wasn’t there. My wife’s One Plus Android 10 also has it. This is just one of the simple things in life… who needs all these latest surprises.

To power on and off the phone at a chosen time. My phone shuts down every night and turns on in the morning

    Simple enough. As a concept it allows you to set times for the phone to power down, and power back up again. I don’t use my phone at night, and I don’t leave it on charge for so long. This way I don’t leave it on all night, but it can still be powered up before morning alarms etc.

    Yes, I used this feature on my old OnePlus device, and I really miss it. Please enable it, as it allows me to give my phone a short 2-hour rest every night, which helped improve battery health on my previous OnePlus device.

        Thanks for bringing this up, am hoping this will be included in the final release. i do agree, its a simple feature but useful. I appreciated this functionality in OnePlus.

        Is there any other alternative for this like some kind of app ?

        I am used to schedule off/on and I don’t want my phone run whole night.

        Every know brand phones from 200 $upto 1200$ phones have- schedule to power on/off feature, Which helps in unnecessary battery drain during the midnight’s or when we sleep,where we don’t use our phones.

        Schedule to power on/off helps to prevent ideal drain,in Nothing phone 2 the drain is 6 - 8% between 8 hours off non use,

        So due to this reason,i request nothing to add this feature in nothing phones in upcoming Nothing 3.0 update

        But I’m now using Alternate option as focus mode so I can watch/listen youtube while sleeping and at the set time focus mode automatically shuts Youtube.

          I been asking this feature from since 6 months, I do have a nothing phone 2 which i bought it on May/2024, the major issue of nothing phone is battery draining & discharging, As the phone has less battery (i.e 4700mah battery) reason:- with normal use the phone’s battery drain quickly.

          At first 2 months the battery backup was excellent (for normal use = 7-8 hours battery backup & for heavy performance and gaming = 5.5-6 hours battery backup)but now the battery life has decreased.

          Managing and compromising this things there’s another big problem i.e IDLE DRAIN, at first the idle drain was 6% which is quite lot, considering this the present idle drain is up to 9% which is higher. And there is a glitch in software where after the idle drain there is a massive jump or decrease in battery percentage with normal use upto 4% which is a error reading battery% by the system, ex:- night=70%, Idle drain=9%, i.e 70-9=61%, software glitch= 61-4=57%, in total 13% drain within of 10 hours of IDLE period

          Reason:- we need a feature like “Schedule power on/off” where the phone switch off during idle drain period saving the battery where the apps run in background even after restricting them, saves 13% of the battery which will be quite helpful for the users for long use like 2 days and reduce the battery to under go multiple charging cycles, considering this problems I request nothing to add this feature,
