It happened with my Nothing Phone (1) just now when I was updating from Android 13 to Android 14 (Stable) via OTA Update (Normal Update). It got stuck for approximately 1 hour, after which I restarted it by pushing the power button for almost 10 seconds.
This post is to help ordinary people if they face the same issue; please don’t panic and don’t restart your device immediately.

Derren sir with all due respect we’re the first customers who’ve shown the trust in the brand and now when we’re facing this serious problem you won’t even ready to acknowledge the problem? You can find endless feedbacks regarding this issue many of them even visited the service center but haven’t found any solution. Today i was on a important call and suddenly my phone got restarted and it took more than half an hour to start again. What will we do in the time of emergency?? Haven’t you guys have any moral duty to solve this problem.??

I have the phone 1 for a while now nothing went wrong until now i updated to 2.5.2 and while it was updating it said the same thing tried the power button doesnt work tried it with the volume button doesnt work so i dont know what to do does anybody have some advice?

I woke up this morning to my fully charged Nothing Phone 1 requesting a restart to finish an OS Update. I press restart and go make coffee. By the time I come back, and ever since (5 hours now), all I can see on the screen is:

NOTHING CrashDump Mode (minidump)

Collecting reset reason, device should reboot later…

It doesn’t react to any kind of button combination and I am unsure of how to continue.

Can anyone help me? Would be greatly appreciated.

***edit: It has rebooted on its own, don’t know why or how, but I’m glad to have my phone working normally again.

Derren , Dear support , I am also facing this issue from longtime.. when I approach to service centre.. with out diagnostic they telling change the mother board.

I am in outof warranty and mother board cost is around 25000 rupees, I will get good mobile in the market. I have paid 42000 rupees to buy nothing phone 1, i am really not happy with these mobile, there is no physical damage to my nothing mobile.

After trying multiple restart, it will rebooting and automatically it will go crash dump mode and few applications not open some time and after restart it will work . Some times it will expect factory reset. Due to that i again I need to setup my phone..

With respect to my case please suggest

Abinaya_0HThxZHE3V I am aslo faced this problem and i reached service centre they changed my mother board now its working fine. So contact nearby service centre and tell them to change the board [there is the only way to resolve this problem]

VikashLB So I have been facing the same issue, I have reached the service center and they have replaced the motherboard but still issue is persisting. It is still with service center right now. It is mostly faced in vibration mode.

So this issue is mostly from the secondary PCB, and not the main motherboard. Please ask service center to change the secondary pcb

VikashLB same bro honestly they don’t even tallk about it I was gona get the phone 2 but I am scared it’s Gona have the same issue might as well switch to iPhone
