Nothing Library: What is the Nothing Team Reading and Listening To
Last month, we got two amazing media recommendations from our team. Here are some more books and podcasts that are keeping the team busy and inspired this month. Let us know what you’re reading or listening to down below:
Book - I Want to Die but I Want to Eat Tteokbokki by Baek Sehee (translated by Anton Hur) - recommended by @bishdoesnothing, Global Growth Marketing Director
My book club and I just finished this last month. A vulnerable, witty and open first-hand experience of going through psychiatric sessions to manage depression and anxiety. A mix of word-for-word scripts from Baek’s psychiatric sessions mixed with on-going reflections from both Baek and, at points, her psychiatrist; it’s a unique take on the continuous journey to improve well-being. Not the happiest of reads, but reflective and thought provoking, which truly makes you take pause on your own mental state.
Podcast - We Can Be Weirdos - recommended by @Tom, Customer Experience Manager
We Can Be Weirdos is a podcast all about celebrating the strange and the curious, guiding listeners on a weekly exploration of the outer fringes of human belief. Dan Schreiber hosts with genuine warmth and unforced curiosity, setting a tone that’s both open-minded and cheerful. Each episode brings on guests who present unusual viewpoints and surprising theories. What sets this show apart isn’t simply its collection of bizarre ideas—after all, you can find theories anywhere—but the way it treats them with understanding and excitement rather than judgement or skepticism.
Whether the topic is a strange event or unusual belief, the show keeps things respectful, playful, and encouraging. Instead of dismissing unconventional ideas, it invites listeners to lean in, ask questions, and embrace the unknown.
In the end, what you get is a space where doubt and awe can coexist, making for a listening experience that’s both engaging and enlightening. It’s a reminder that giving the unexpected a moment in the spotlight can make the world feel more expansive, stranger, and, in the best possible way, more fun.
