It was said that the new version 3.0 will add support for 90 FPS in the Pubg game. But itā€™s still not on Nothing Phone 2a plus.

I must say, considering itā€™s a beta the update has felt very smooth so far. Only been using it for 24 hours however I can report:

  • No problems during the update process
  • No noticeable slow down or issues with refresh rates
  • Battery consumption seems normal, no noticeable difference so far.
  • Really like the new customisation on the lock screen as well as the pull down settings menu
  • The AI app drawer is pretty accurate apart from two apps which I wouldnā€™t say would be correct so 98% there. Looks much better than the unorganised endless list of the original app drawer.
  • So far every day apps are working well including Google maps and other social media apps. Canā€™t report much on gaming as I donā€™t use my phone much for that, but the very few I have are working fine too.

If thereā€™s any issues I will feed this back on here but so far I would recommend upgrading but back up your data just in case! šŸ‘šŸ»

Got the update, everything runs smooth.

Glitches (subjective) - Quick setting tiles are not present, notification drawer is blank when pulled down, cannot add remove or modify tiles, waiting for a fix šŸ¤˜šŸ»

Update - 2 restarts and the problem fixed itself šŸ¤˜šŸ»

Whenever I turn off the ā€œDisplay apps in full screenā€ it still shows the apps on full screen, and it makes certain apps difficult to use as the UI in the app interferes with the status bar on the top. Unrelated but I love this new nothing font

  1. Why should i need to download .apk from nothing community, to get updated to nothing 3.0, will nothing wonā€™t provide the update automatically in our mobiles without installation apkā€™s ?
  2. What is OS 3.0 beta

      Promo_NME3VjYEi7 Hey hope you are doing well. Let me help you. Sorry if I made any mistakes in my English.

      1. OS 3.0 is a new update, like Android 13, 14. But what company do is they bring the update but some twist those twist can be features, or anything like customisation.

        So in short our all Nothing phones are on Android 14 but they are going to get updated/upgraded when they will release the Nohting OS 3.0.

      2. Then your first doubt you donā€™t need to download any .apk from this community. They are all beta updates. They are providing so that some users can upgrade the update and enjoy Android 15 first.

        2 advantages :

        (a) First if they face any bug in the update they will, report that here and Nothing team will fix that issue.

        (b) People can get to experience the newest updates first.

      But these arent for everybody, like if you use your phone on a regular basis you dont need to do this, because as I mentioned there are many bugs you might not use you phone properly, like making calls, or connecting to wifi. These are basic problems that most of time we faced.

      But when Nothing will release official update then these problems will be solved beforehand.

      So again you donā€™t need to download any update/ .apk from the website they will release that officially on you phone.

      But yeah depending which phone you have it might take some time. Like first they will release the updates for Nothing Phone 2a, then for Nothing Phone 2 and so on for 2a Plus and then for cmf phones etc etc.

      But the dates arent conformed yet, it was said that they will release in December, but on which dates it isnā€™t revealed. So you can expect maybe on Christmas or maybe in celebration of New Year.

      Hope I have cleared all of your doubts.

        JonhCena Nothing have already stated this will be launched in December. Theyā€™ll announce on community when theyā€™re ready!

          Hey I updated my (2a) Plus to OS 3.0 couple of hours ago.

          Quick questions:

          1. I use the *#*#4636#*#* *to change my network preference. When required , i change to ā€œNR Onlyā€ (5G only) ..

            But after the update the changes made are automatically getting reset to default. Any way to make it work as earlier? Is this issue with Android 15 ? Can someone from nothing give a clarity.

          2. Query: How is to enable and disable auto brightness?
