One year ago I went to my first Nothing community event and after many concepts posted… I got to collaborate with the team to shoot a video about the new OS 3.0.

The purpose was to tell about the new OS from my perspective as a designer, telling what is new and what has changed. The new font, the dot animations and also how they redesigned the lock screen, home screen and quick settings.

Given my background with video, it seemed like a good opportunity to shoot this.

The whole thing was shot at sunrise in Rome, so as to get the best light and avoid too many people around.

I wanted to shoot the video outdoors to capture that urban aspect of Nothing’s communication but also to show that community members come from all over the world.

The footage was shot in 5 different locations to make the video dynamic and have freedom in editing. It took about 2 days of filming, in which I shot videos by myself and took b-rolls with the interfaces of the new OS 3.0

In the end there must have been something like 100 total clips that I selected and sent to the team, who did the editing.
