I had the most bizarre experience with my CMF Phone 1 today. I was using my regular Realme charger, which had been working fine for almost two weeks since I got the device. It is well-built, charges slowly, but never gave me any trouble until now.

Out of nowhere, I noticed my phone kept stopping charging every three to four minutes. I went through every possible cause.

- Thought the socket might be loose, so I switched to a different one.

- Suspected the charging port connection, so I checked with a torch. Everything looked fine.

- Looked for dust, but it was perfectly clean.

- Changed the cable, but the issue remained.

- Switched to an Anker 30W GaN charger, but still had the same problem.

- Even tried PD chargers from Samsung and Moto with no luck.

At this point, I started thinking my phone was faulty. I searched “connected, but not charging” on Google since that is what I saw in the battery settings. To my surprise, I found that other Nothing phone users were facing the exact same issue. They also tried swapping chargers and cables frantically, but nothing worked.

The funniest part is that even Nothing’s official charger does not solve the problem. Users reported that it comes and goes. One week, everything is fine, and the next, you are suddenly cursed with this issue despite using the same charger and cable.

This has to be a software problem, and I have no idea what to do now.

I could find ten or more similar examples with a simple search. Just look at the comments and you will see that a lot of people are experiencing the same thing. Since no charger or cable fixes it and it happens randomly, it must be software-related.

I thought buying Nothing meant a hassle-free experience. I was

not prepared for this headache.

im experience the same problem with my cmf phone 1

i have a samsung 45w gan pd charger used to work fine even better than the official 33w cmf charger. Now it only charges when powered off

I just asked on Reddit and found out a bunch of other people are facing the same issue. I highly doubt it’s hardware related.

      Here’s why:

I have tried charging three times today. I had this problem the first time. But second time everything went smoothly. It reappeared the third time.

I had this too with my Phone (2), but it ended itself

        Peruna

That’s great to hear man! When did it appear and how long did it take to go away?

SpeedMirage It was around 50% when it stopped charging, used it until it was on about 5%, the next day i plugged it in and it charged

I have the same issue where my cmf phone 1 says it’s charging but it’s been stuck at the same battery percentage from a long time. Yes I also use the official cmf gan 65w charger. This is becoming really annoying

I happened with me too, I have CMF 65w gan charger. I charge my Nothing phone 1 with it, If I charge from type c to type c cable it shows no response and if I charge from type A to type c cable my phone starts charging at very slow rate.

SpeedMirage I actually had this issue even before the update , the issue did not appear after the update for some time , the update log even mentioned fixed issues related to charging .

RapidZapper no, it is a software bug, since the phone charges when switched off, only happened on NothingOS 3.0 beta
