TheonlyCreator I have been using my Nothing Phone 3a Pro for several days. I noticed something there are some apps missing that your team should build, like calculator (like Xiaomi), calendar, Gyroscope (useful for photographers like me and others as in iphone), chances of rain in weather app. I really hate to use google calculator and calendar, I deleted the Google calculator started using Xiaomi’s but for calendar no options 😔. I hope Nothing team could give a thought for it.
TheonlyCreator Samurai ◔‿◔ Thanks for info. I wrote there incorrect thing I need Gyroscope app for leveling a surface
CMF1_hacker Who cares. NOTHING should focus on hardware (glyph) and the OS. Those are it’s USPs (unique selling points). Everything else is a waste of time. This monochrome dot matrix display is actually interesting. NOTHING gallery really?????????
Azarath CMF1_hacker no, they don’t need to focus on hardware. What they need to focus on creating their basic apps what the point? Look at the essentials space so much potential but lacks privacy. Having their Nothing OS but lacking a few basic apps. Honestly the phone is quite boring because of the OS. Only the outside of the phone is very pretty that’s about it. Probably the widgets is cool but still lacking of other widgets. So yeah they need a lot of works on the OS.
SantoshSaw When nothing users expect Deep Black Screen, Nothing Dailer, Message, Calculator, and other Basic Apps to be look pure Nothing OS Experience. Now it’s time to work on these things.
Chinmaya Nothing NEEDS to make their own dedicated notes app exclusive to nothing phones. I used a notes app called Notes:notepad by monospace and I feel like they’re tryna copy the OG style of nothing. But they still have a lot more to do bcs they lack updates. So please nothing, make a notes app.
MursalatulPallob I think nothing is the most creative smartphone company. But it uses default google apps which does not follow the design philosophy of nothing. And most of the nothing users buy nothing product because of the design. So i think nothing should create its own dialing, messaging, and other apps that they are using from google based on their theme.
mafcarvalho MursalatulPallob Xiaomi (also Redmi/POCO) is the example of a company that used to install their own dialer and messaging app. They did it on all regions too. A few years ago they had to switch to Google Dialer and Messages at least on Global and EEA regions. China region wasn’t affected. This was due to security concerns and if my memory serves me well it had to do with EU rules/regulations. Why should Nothing waste resources developing something that most likely wouldn’t be allowed in the EEA region? This would create more negative discussions and people feeling deceived. I understand that Google Phone and Messages aren’t “pretty apps” but they work impeccably. I respect other’s opinions but creating redundant or duplicate apps doesn’t seem to be a smart choice, at least for now. Regards
