**Feature Request 35: Nothing's own Communication Suite of Apps** Are Google's Communication Suite of Apps good enough? -I doubt. There isn't a month that Google Dialer and Messages are not riddled with some sort of bugs, be it battery draining issue or buttons disappearing after making a call to someone etc. and some controversial issue like Sending users data without permission. I feel developing Nothing Dialer/Phone, Contacts and Messaging App with Nothing's unique visual language would be a wise decision, just not to duplicate some Google Apps but to better the user experience.

I used to like the Google Play Music App UI, to play music off my MMC in the phone. That App got junked by Google when it decided to promote the Youtube Music App which sucks on UI front. There are many Apps on Google Play Store which allow you to play music off your MMC, but music streaming Apps like Spotify are here to stay, as their repository is huge and they have exclusive content tie-ups with singers and other musicians. Don’t think Nothing would / should work on this area, but perhaps create an App to play music off MMCs integrated into the Nothing OS 3.2 so one doesn’t have to download other Apps for this simple use-case.

That’s the dumbest thing I’ve read here. If you miss duplicate or even 3x same-purpose apps from different providers, buy a Xiaomi or Samsung. They all have their beautiful, laggy, unoptimized suite of useless apps, next to the Google ones of course. I really don’t understand the need of bloating the OS, if you want triple apps, why don’t you open the Play Store? There’s like 1000 alternatives for every built-in app you could think of. What Nothing made is sufficient and does what it needs to, OS should BE an OS, not an ad-driven piece of junk you need to debloat the moment you buy it just to use it smoothly.

I can see how nothing saves money on every thing. No themes market, No ai features, No, extra thing just a phone if you want something you can go to 3rd party, seriously. In the name of update let me tell you, you get nothing . They don’t even give the charger then what should we expect. I can see nothing becoming really nothing in few years down the lane and sitting beside nokia or htc.

I roll with third-party N-lookalike stuff like N Dial. There’s a bunch of great stuff out there. I’ve warmed to Gallery but didn’t like it at first. I wouldn’t want to see NTL pull developers off of updates, GM and ES to develop stuff that already exists or could be handled by third-parties.

Nothing should grow as company to perform such stuff with replacing Google’s apps. It requires large amount of manpower indeed. But we will come to that eventually.

I’d love it if they’d do that, however the messaging app should support RCS though (every Android with GMessages and recent iPhones have it)

Im curious how they would manage to do this, since RCS is only on Android phones with Google Messages installed

megatomic This. And to add to that, a lot of them want bLuR aNd CoLoUrS eVeRyWhErE because it’s what Google has in Android 16. But they want it all minimal and made by Nothing.

Anonymous931 and don’t forget FREE. They buy low end CMF phones, which are excellent at their price point don’t get me wrong, and want services for free. Please….

CMF1_hacker the point is that an entire segment of the Nothing/CMF user base is buying the least expensive devices they can expecting a portfolio of apps and services that they have no reason to expect. It’s laughable.

megatomic I agree. They also want constant updates. The honest answer is that I can’t believe that the CMF1 made money at that price point as the SoC and screen are very solid and expensive. There’s literally zero left for development. I have no evidence but I assume that the CMF1 was subsidised by the NP2 purchases (and current NP3 purchases at full price).
