I think by now, we have all seen the leaks on Socials and from Tech News outlets?
For those who are unfamiliar, the renowned leaker “Evan Bliss” shared the following leaked email on X (Formerly Twitter) the other day:
I first saw it via the Android Authority Article here!
So, let’s discuss?
First up, we knew about a new “Product” coming, from Nothing’s very own YouTube video, titled “Inside Nothing’s SECRET Colour Lab” - Look at the end, around the 07:02 minute mark for the juicy drop. Lucy says “March 2025”, but the edit and text on top says “April 2025”.
That leads us nicely to the leaked email above, at the end Carl addresses “First up in Q1, we have a landmark smartphone launch”. Businesses tend to view the calendar year in Quarters, hence the prefix of “Q1”, not the first session of Qualifying, for you Formula 1 fans out there! 😉
As such, we can take the first three (3) months of the year to be part of Q1. January, February or March. With this email, we know it was sent on January 2nd 2025, and the YouTube video was published on 22nd December 2024. So March/April seems to be the date, as verified by these two sources.
What could this “landmark smartphone” be? - Is it the highly anticipated Phone (3)? Is it another budget Phone, perhaps a successor to the Phone (2a)/Phone (2a) Plus? Surely it is too early for a sequel to the highly successful CMF Phone 1? Will it be the supposed leak codename that has been found on GeekBench? - A059 anyone, as GSMArena Reports?!
Let’s get the new year started off with some healthy speculation, feel free to add your theories, thoughts and comments below!
Extra bonus points for any daring individuals to add their own sketches or renders to this thread (Points are merely for fun and there aren’t exchangeable for any prize…sorry!)
I shall add my thoughts in a further comment, once I have written it up! 👀
Looking forward to hearing the Community’s thoughts on this product and your thoughts on the other aspects of the email. Bigger camera and software teams?! AI-focused Phone (3)?! Carl says “better products and innovation”?! Sounds like Nothing has a great future ahead, and as I speculate the email ends… LFG🚀
