BittuKumar_UpluUiSTMD airtel 5G is bad, they say its 5G but it is just lame upgraded version of 4G, it only gives unlimited at home(if you have 5G in the area) not even other 5G places. Jio 5G unlimited works really well since it is real 5G but its network stability is .
Same here with 2a plus also

I’ll be honest about this with no bias. I’m forced to write about the issues on the forum as I’ve exhausted myself with on device feedback multiple times.I own nothing phone (1)and (2a). My Phone 1 had its own problems but overall I liked using it. My Phone 2a too was amazing till 2.6 update. I would ignore those issues which seemed not too much of an issue with my everyday use but ever since the 3.0 update on my 2a, it’s been hell.
The network issue which should work automatically between 5G and 4G is broken after 3.0. If I set my data and voice to 5G/VoNR preferentially, the cell signal is missing most of the time, not switching to 4G automatically.
Second, even if it shows 4G or even 5G, I miss so many calls from my work and family, with the caller claiming my phone was either out of reach or busy. It’s causing me so much trouble that I wrote a feedback in detail. And the apparent solution that maybe the cell signal is itself missing is wrong. I have my phone 1, OnePlus 13R, and they never lose the 5G signal, even for a bit, on the same network.
But it seems like nothing is only focused on New launches, and really doesn’t care about the old phones. The updates may be frequent, but don’t address the issues and they keep persisting. An illusion of high quality consumer support.
Sometimes, I have to manually select a cell signal to get on 5G and occasionally I have to use the dialer (*#*#4636#*#*) to manually select 5G. This issue never occured before 2.6.
Horrible experience recently. The forums are full of issues, and for a second I’d excuse the less than essential feature issues but a lack of good network support cannot be ignored. For now this probably is my last nothing product, being impressed with ear 2, but not enough to compensate for being a mediocre phone company with literal gaps in the software, for they may have cool widgets and a great design, but essentially not a phone, without its network features.
BittuKumar_UpluUiSTMD Eight months ago, I faced the same issue on my Phone (1) while using Airtel 5G. At that time, my Phone (1) was unable to provide unlimited 5G. To check if the issue was with the SIM or the device, I ejected the Airtel SIM and inserted it into my friend’s OnePlus Nord CE3. Surprisingly, the OnePlus Nord CE3 was able to use unlimited 5G without any issues.
Turtle_shell That is not ur phones fault it’s a network issue, strictly not airtel but 5G in general, higher wavelength 5G band/wave can’t go through multiple layers of concrete so as it travels it dies out, so if the network even detects 5G it’s usually transfers the data over the 4G network due to better and reliable connection and since jio has most of the low level bandwidth which can pass through walls and concrete easily u will receive jio 5G signal better even indoors. Jio has all the 220 700MHz bandwidth of all the states in India and rest of the 800 to 900 MHz bandwidths are shared by the big 3.
anushtupbhattacharya that’s not the issue. I’m using jio and my point is that if the other phones are getting 5g continuously, why not 2a, and it used to, before 3.0 update.
The big issues are with calls and network. Even with 4G, people text me to let me know that their calls aren’t getting through to me. Pathetic support
same issue my nothing phone 2a 5g network is not provide better experience
Omg I’m facing same issues too, it shows true 5g/5g++ but it’s consuming my 4g data wth nothing. Solve this problem please
I receive JIO 5G signals on my roof top, I have tried connecting to 5G by selecting network manually, However it would sutomatically switches back to 4g 4g+ after a minute, Is there any way I can force it to keep on 5G instead. I have tried with smart 5G disabled.
I’m a CMF Phone 1 user, using this phone since 6 months with airtel sim. When I recharged it with unlimited 5g plans it isn’t working truly 5g the network speeds limit to 5 mbps. I never seen it above 6 mbps even it’s 5g. But the problem is not over yet, I even can’t use unlimited 5g internet, it’s just showing 5g and the data uses from my 2GBper day as a 4G network .
Hope this problem will be solved as soon as possible.
