Since buying my CMF 1, I have never seen this device go over 34-35°C—mostly because I don’t play games or run demanding apps, and partly because it’s cold as hell here. It’s 12°C outside today and 15-16°C inside the house.

But for some reason, the phone is heating up so much that I had to close all the apps and turn it off in fear that it might explode. The area near the camera module feels like an oven—it’s around 44-45°C. That’s definitely not normal for a phone that has never gone past 34-35°C in the last two months.

I’m still using the same charger and the same apps, which leads me to believe the processor was running at a higher clock speed, couldn’t handle or close something in the background, and ended up causing the device to overheat.

It’s only been two months, and this is like the 50th time this phone has pissed me off. I genuinely regret buying a Nothing phone, and I’m tired of complaining and constantly sending bug reports.

Then the next course of action would be to “force stop” the apps in settings/apps to determine which one it is. And then remove it from the phone.

I haven’t noticed sth like that on my CMF phone, but I don’t use any games.

CMF1_hacker Nothing specific. I’ve been using the same apps for nearly two months. I open them regularly, so if one app were the issue, the problem would occur daily.

Manually closing each app just for a temporary fix is a hassle in 2025. Any OS should be capable of handling this on its own.

In the past few days, my CMF phone1 has been having heating issues. What should I do?

SpeedMirage oh you aren’t alone, I’m fairly sure it’s the inconsistencies in the 3.0 update that are causing the heating. For now I’d say we wait and see if it gets better after the next hotfix update

Santhosh_2QYSO2ySbK Hey mate. We need more information here? What are you doing on it? Have you recently updated the device? When you say it’s getting hot, is it to hot to touch? Have you installed any new apps recently?

More information will help us guide/help you.

        Cheers

Same facing this issue. Nothing need to fix through software update.

hrry it’s during multitasking for me, if I’m on a video call and I’m referring to something else then after maybe an hour

It starts getting hot, and if I plug it into a charger then it gets worse

so much so that it just sends a overheating notification and stops charging

Last night I was watching anime on my cmf phone 1, I downloaded about 22 video on 720p quality, and I don’t know if it’s because of the videos or not but my phone’s battery was draining fast and heating alot. I just want to know what happened to avoid this kind of problem.
