Hello Nothing’s developer Team,

I have came up with an idea to make Nothing Phone to make theft proof. Could you please add a feature requiring a password to power off your phones? This would greatly enhance security by preventing unauthorized shutdowns, ensuring that tracking and security features remain active, and aiding in device recovery if lost or stolen. This update would be a valuable addition to your already excellent range of features, providing users with an extra layer of protection.Rather than adding this to a bucket list of potential updates, I urge you to prioritize this feature and start working on it as soon as possible. It would significantly improve the security and usability of your devices.Thank you for considering this request!Best regards,

-happy nothing phone user

RapidZapper changed the title to Require password to shutdown option .

Nothing should definitely add this feature in upcoming updates

Till the time you can use a trick

Go to settings >system>gesture>press and hold power button >select digital assistant

This is actually a great a idea but somewhat nothing is failing in transparency of updates like roadmap features like what are the things that team is currently working on and what are in high priority list and what are in discussion otherwise what’s the point of creating this community platform, i get it why 2a marketing is important but there are plenty of things than 2a community edition, there are so many things which is still missing in nothing phone, YouTube community updates are great but still hard to picture what exactly next update will be about

Why need too much, Google is already working on find my device to work even if the device is offline. Why can’t we just use what Google has been providing, and instead asking Nothing to add this that like want to turn it into MIUI or ColorOS?

You add password to shutdown the phone, well then how about when the battery get drained?

Previously we can’t switch off mobile data from lock screen and nothing changed it later so that thieves can turn it off. I don’t know which owner wants the communication of their phone cutoff without authorisation. Don’t know whether it is progress or regress, but no company in the world wants you to recover stolen. They always leave a way behind. Afterall there is a sales department.

Suudduuu_ I second your opinion. This feature is a must and needs to be prioritized in the next update. Along with it the quick settings/tiles in the pull down should be locked when on the lock screen. This is a much needed security features that ensures that if our nothing phone gets stolen the location cannot be disabled and the phone cannot be shut down unless the passcode is entered.

    Hey guys,

I am using nothing Phone 2a for past 3 months, i found a critical bug. As in lockscreen also we can power off and restart the device without any fingerprint or passcode.

It is very critical because if your phone is stolen, stranger can easily power off your device and do whatever.

So team kindly address this software issue ASAP

    Cheers! Thanks in advance.

We need an option to switch off the mobile only when lock is opened , this option is too useful to us.and when someone steals the mobile they can easily switch off the mobile and takeaway.
