Anonymous297 oh really? Thanks for correcting me. I’ve never searched for that feature and maybe that’s why I only noticed it now. It’s actually a great security feature. Too many phone robberies end up badly (untraceable) because Internet connections can be disabled from the lock screen.

@palatinagavamsi I’m not sure when the feature of asking password while shuting down will come but I have a temporary temporary solution not sure this has shutdown feature or not.

    How to get this :

    •Open settings

    •Take apps

    • Find Google play services

•Scroll down to find app details and update the app to the latest version

•Now come to settings to find a new feature called theft protection

This is a very important safety feature that needs to be on priority in the next updates. Recently one of my friends had his S24 stolen, I liked how the feature of unlock before power off prevented the thief from switching it off. He later rang the phone using google find my device and recovered it.

This is a very essential feature that Nothing needs to roll out on its next update.

      Hello Nothing Community! Greetings!

Nothing OS is a feature rich OS and is getting better by the day. But one serious flaw is that while restarting or shutting down the phone from lock screen doesn’t require any password as of now. Which I feel is very much necessary and a must have. This would prevent thieves from shutting down the phone and user might track it.

mafcarvalho Oh damn I didn’t see this until now, nice, now they need to prevent power off prevention while phone is locked, unless that feature also exists now..

I think there should be a setting that asks for security password to power off the phone when it’s locked. Just like in Samsung galaxy and oppo phones.

Should have a basic security feature of requiring password for phone Reboot/Shutdown. Currently if the phone is misplaced, anybody can just shutdown the phone.

Plz do it my humble request & very useful for all users!

      Dear team

Recently I’ve updated to nothing 3.0 beta but still there is no ‘require pass code to shutdown’. What is the use of theft protection if the thief switches off the phone? 😕.

Also we need double tap to unlock phone, as phone opens up once we touch the screen accidently.

Pls do atleast push these through some updates after stable is launched.
