BassimBinYoosaf This feature is useless if someone switches off the phone after they steal it. If they switch it off, then we can’t track our phone.
Password to switch off phone must be a mandatory feature and it’s still missing.

belthur Yaa bro I never said password to switch off is not necessary.
I just pointed out a new theft feature which might help some people
This should happen Password is required to switch off the mobile from the lockscreen.
The password to unlock the lock screen and the password of the app locker should be different, because even if someone gets to know the screen lock password, he will not be able to unlock the app. This will help in keeping the mobile secure.
There should be a password to unlock hidden apps and it should also be different from those two passwords.
If my phone gets snatched by a thief, he would power off the phone or he will turn on flight mode. Please provide a function so that phone has to be unlocked first to do so. It’s a major security requirement in India. Police can track the phone using sim location if the phone is not turned off.
Can nothing team add theft protection features like authentication is needed when power off or rebooting while on lock screen.
It will help to retrieve stolen items if theives are not able to shutdown the phone.
I hope this feature will be implemented in the upcoming updates I find it very useful & necessary it’s a must have for safety and security purposes.
Dear Team Nothing,
Can you guys add feature passcode for switching power off the device, it will maintain the security of device incase any mis happening took place. Also this feature is needed to many user and its very usefull feature.
I m currently using cmf phone 1 and if possible please do check my request and add this feature.
I would like to suggest a feature for improved security on Nothing Phone. When attempting to power off the phone, it should require the lock screen password. This would prevent unauthorized users from turning off the device and could be a crucial step in protecting the phone in case of theft.
Adding this feature would greatly enhance security and align with best practices followed by many smartphones today. I hope the team considers implementing this in a future update.
Thank
you!
I think we are getting anti theft features with android 15.
This OS should ask for password/ pattern when we try to switch off the phone for added security.
Also noticed a bug , when we long press power button while lock screen, quick setting can be accessed easily even when it is locked. Please fix this as well.
I would like to suggest an improvement regarding the power-off functionality of your mobile devices. Currently, anyone can turn off the phone directly from the lock screen, without requiring any form of authentication. This poses a potential security risk, especially in the event that the phone is lost or stolen, as it prevents the user from tracking the device or remotely securing it.
To enhance security and prevent unauthorized shutdowns, I recommend introducing an authentication feature that requires a password, PIN, fingerprint, or other form of verification before the phone can be powered off from the lock screen. This would provide an additional layer of protection, particularly in critical situations.
Today I sow my relatives phone which has a feature called (password to switch off the phone) basically the system ask password or lock screen password to turn off the phone , which prevents theft person from turning off the phone which gives some more time to track if lost or stolen.
I request nothing to add this feature in upcoming Nothing 3.0 update for nothing phone series
