Hi, I use very sensitive low ohm, IEM headphones, and volume control from 0-16 steps is not precise enough for me, I use 1 is too quiet but 2 is too loud, so maybe it’s good idea to add option for user to let him choose more precise volume control like 0-50 steps. Tried searching for apps that could control volume precisely but when the sound goes through them they make sound way worse.
More precise volume control

Comming from a Pixel 7 Pro. The lowest volume setting on an Phone 2 is at least twice as loud as normal. This is a major issue, which can be solved very easliy by adjusting the volume range and steps in the next update of nothing os.
Update: I contacted nothing customer support and they told me that they have forwarded the problem to they respective team and the problem should be solved with the next update.
Let’s hope that they listen to their community and that something happens.
Love my nothing phone 1 but this is painful and the thing that makes me regrets my Samsung note 20.. I fall asleep listening to videos or podcasts and the fact that the first 3 steps are almost inaudible and useless and the fourth one is too loud annoy me every night. I even try 3 other earbuds during the past two years including nothing ear, galaxy buds pro and soundcore sleep…
Yes we really need more steps for volume controlls, the phone it’s very loud even at the first steps.
I find the lowest possible media volume to be too loud in very quiet environments and i would love to see a more precise volume slider. It can be a dropdown selection in settings>volume with different levels of dividers. For example 20 dividers would increase/decrease the volume by 5% each time. 40 dividers would do that with 2.5% increments. We should be able to set the value ourselves up to 1% precision in my opinion.
Please make it so you can exactly choose the Volume You want by controlling it with your finger. When using the Volume Buttons in my Nothing Phone it goes in 6% steps i think. But Sometimes even 6% is way too loud. So it would be helpful If you for example could put it in 2% Volume by swiping the Volume bar down with your finger.
Agree that lowest level is sometimes too loud in quite room. Praying for precise volume to be added in 3.0
bump, same issue with np2

Though they have told that this will be fixed in next update. It’s still not fixed in the latest update they released. Bit disappointing.!
I actually thought ‘nothing’ will listen to community lot more than the other big companies.
galaxys3 Yes! Especially at low volume levels on good speakers, it’s either so soft that you can’t hear the music or too loud!
It’s wild that this is an issue, there should be 100 steps of volume by default.
January 2025 volume steps are still too big. This is really bad.
I can also confirm this issue is still present on NP2 running OS3.0.
The most annoying volume step for me is between 3 and 4 on Ear (a). You can hear it jump 2 volume steps for 1 button press.
As this issue has been present for many months now, can nothing please look into this as a matter of urgency.
Kind Regards
Lee
LeeCleary It is an issue in general. There are only 16 steps in Android/Nothing OS.
HI Jack, thanks for letting me know the reason.
I hadn’t noticed it until recently when I got my nothing ear (a) earphones as I generally have it full volume when connected to car Bluetooth and home amplifier. I don’t recall having this noticeable volume jump with my previous Samsung phone so am hopeful this can be fixed
Best Regards, Lee
I tried an app called Precise Volume, it’s a good workaround in the meantime
