This article seems to suggest you need to be actively using an app on your phone to help it trigger:

      Power of verify is not working in 3A i don’t know about other series. Is there any updates on this or no. Please fix this bug so that mobile will be more secure from theft.

      Would like to ask this feature .. says it is an anti theft feature wherein if this is activated, you cannot off your device unless you key in your password, right?!?

      I cannot use this feature if my phone is unlock .. I mean first I lockscreen for this to just shut down…

      When the phone is in unlock mode, it can easily be closed…

      I said I bought the aura I need to click the lock screen button first… pro is only available off verify feature if the phone is locked screen

      Do you want to fix it? Like my phone once activated, it’s safe to do it as long as it can be closed when asking for a password first… D hassle…

      Hello guys and team,

      I have both nothing 2a and nothing 3a pro phone . I am facing issue is that when i press both volume up and power button for 10-20 seconds my phone is restarting that shouldn’t happen because power off feature (restart or power off only with password) . Guys if you are facing same please do something about it . I request nothing developers that help me solve this issue is that anyone can restart my phone with above technique
