Essential space for older Nothing Phones?

Will the Essential Space and Essential Key features from the Nothing Phone (3a) come to the Nothing Phone (2a) and (2)?

Vard you can simulate that button press with Tasker and get it run on the CMF1 as an example.

Samarth97 I agree, when I wrote to support, they told me something like, “there are some details, and so on,”, it seems to me that this is just a marketing ploy, so to speak, and adding these functions is not that difficult.

Vard I meant that it runs on older devices (like the CMF1) without the button but using software (Tasker/automation tools) that fools the OS into believe that the button has been pressed.

But what’s the point on not even taking any steps to update the user experience.

They made the app drawer look uglier by giving a worst update.

Can’t I use the volume button and the power button at the same time if I don’t have a essential key in my device.

So guys don’t expect this from them ,they don’t want us to experience the feature 😔 😔

Being like this they(nothing) think that they are the worthiest opponent for apple 😒

I am not against Essential Space here, it’s just AI should be for everyone. I never liked the idea that only phones with Essential key are getting AI features, like c’mon seriously, it’s anyways processing on the cloud.

So why not make it auch that even other Phones can benefit from the AI features and not only limit to Phones with Essential key.

What’s the point if it’s not not accessible, and don’t come here saying our chip is old and all, since the processing is done on the cloud, we can make almost lowest end device use AI, no doubt it might be slow in some cases but that doesn’t mean it will not work only.

Seeing how things are now Essential Space features are only available to phones with Essential key. Like seriously?

I am not against Essential Space here keep them one tier higher but what’s the point if AI features can’t be accessible to every Nothing Phones.

I don’t like how other Nothing Phones are treated especially Phone(2) and now this, like c’mon.

Why not try to make AI accessible for everyone instead of having it only for phones with Essential Key.

I would love the team to respond to this because keeping AI features limited to phones with Essential Key is definitely a bad idea.

I hope team responds to this thread, otherwise just a Phone(2) user trying to make legitimate points.

It’s been a while since features like Essential Space, updated widgets, and other UI improvements were introduced in the CMF Phone 2 Pro, Phone (3a), and Phone (3).

But so far, we haven’t seen any of these updates on older models like the Phone (2a), 2a Plus , or even the Phone (2).

As early adopters and loyal Nothing users, we expected at least some of these features to be rolled out through software updates. It feels a bit disappointing that the newer devices are getting all the exclusive features while existing users are left out.

Could someone from the team please clarify if these features are planned for older phones too? Or are they going to remain exclusive to the new models?

Would really appreciate a clear update..

Adnan_28 If the processor is the concern, thn I am not agreeing to that. If the processor in Cmf phone 2 pro can handle, why not others?

Mostly not it’s older devices and those are new feature specifically designed for more intrigated hardware and software so. Imo probably not gonna be in older devices.

I still guess essential search maybe a option but other than that nah.

Bro just to clarify — Nothing Phone (2a Plus) has the Dimensity 7350 Pro and Other Phones like 2a and phone 2 , which is more powerful than the 7300 in the CMF Phone 2 Pro.

So saying “our processor can’t handle AI features” doesn’t really make sense here.

If the CMF phone can handle Essential Space and other features, our phones should have no problem doing the same — unless it’s just a way to keep things exclusive to new models.

Just hoping for some honest clarification from the team, instead of blaming hardware that’s clearly capable.

The team is just not interested in giving us the features maybe due to some marketing strategies I think.

I remain genuinely impressed with my Nothing Phone 2, which I believe is among the most beautifully designed smartphones to date. From a hardware perspective, it is fully capable of handling current demands, yet it is evident that manufacturers often feel the need to stimulate sales of newer models by intentionally sidelining older devices.
I find this approach disappointing and fundamentally unfair, but at the end of the day, it all comes down to revenue, doesn’t it?

The only actual feature missing is Essential Space which is reserved to devices with the Essential Key.

All other features are / will be available (Presets in Camera was announced to be coming later)

RapidZapper Bro I am talking about the AI features until now only AI features we saw are coming to phones with Essential Key, not the regular phones that is the concern. Normal AI features currently exists only phones with Essential Key like seriously?
