Great that Nothing uses standards and not proprietary fast charing. We can now buy other brands for charging. But the lack of USB3.0-3.1 is bad, we can’t use the phone for desktop mode via altmode. Courage would be USB-4!

RohitPakalapati please fix phone 2a charging problem please 🙏🙏

  1. Phone 2a has many charging problem like “when I removed charging cable but charging signal still showing ,after reboot it’s solved”
  1. When I put my phone on charging with the power on, it charges very slowly, but when I switch it off, it starts charging very fast

I got some issues in Phone 2 after update, that many of Apple & other Charger got blacklisted and slowed down speed to 5W, while they can charge faster at speed of 15 to 20 Watt on OS 2.6, SO PD thing with Apple Chargers are messed up in this update…

Lovely to see you posting back here, Rohit!

A great explainer too, and now I shall always remember the bucket of water when my device is charging as fast as possible! 👀

That was a great read! The explanation of USB PD and PPS was really clear. The analogy of PPS as a smart water tap really clarifies the concept.

It’s good to know how different chargers affect charging speed and battery health. Thanks for breaking it down!

Thank you for this nice and complete article! Very useful information. I didn’t know most of the things you explained in this article.

rahulrn as already was mentioned previously in the community, the Nothing Phone 2a supports PPS and PD 3.0 charging.

Thanks for this charging background.

I wonder why nobody put nothing on the display indicating the charging mode, is it 5V, PD, or PPS?

Why to let the user guess what is wrong with the charging, cable, the charger is not capable of PPS or even PD… When the phone can know what is the problem please tell the user.

Does Cmf Phone 1 support Pd and Pps with its Charger.

Many inexpensive chargers work like my ANKER Nano 3 (511) that was £10 shipped.

Here it is pulling 25 or so W on my CMF Phone 1 this week. Just look for the PPS/PD on the charger itself like those I took the photograph of. I find the NOTHING chargers vastly overpriced like all of their accessories. I’m not spending £30 on a phone when the phone itself was £169.
