I recently purchased the Nothing Phone 3a and have noticed that the battery drains very quickly during WhatsApp video calls. Even with a full charge, the battery percentage drops significantly within a short period. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Are there any settings or optimizations that could help reduce battery consumption during video calls? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Anonymous1123 it’s foldable! Of course the cost of screen replacement cost like a price of a new phone. Btw my previous A71 was bought around 30000₽ what’s around €280 this time. My Nothingie was bought for 32500₽ from a local marketplace. I can’t convert to euros in my head actually so it’s better check was I right. Z Flip5 costed around €1000, so replacement is around a half of its cost.

If I only knew🤷🏼‍♀️ maybe because I’m not as active on Instagram actually as someone said it eats battery. I’m not watching YT actually cause of no time. But I listen to music like 24/7. So I’ve got 38000+ minutes for all the year in our local music service.

I’ll track the battery with accubattery or smth same later I guess, if I won’t forget, so maybe I’ll see.

themountofmint Well, thank you very much for your explanation. Maybe someone was right that IG and YT consumes a lot of battery. And i do watch a lot YT Videos and sometimes turn off the screen if only for podcast.

themountofmint I only wish to achieve this sot 😱 but since last night my battery is going down even more lol. Atp I’m thinking it’s not the battery but maybe me myself because I constantly keep getting paranoid and checking the battery 😅.

Flip phones are very cool but expensive in both buying and reparing. I’ll still get one someday maybe haha. These days midrangers are best. 300-500 euros is good enough. Infact chinese phones are even more bang for bucks considering the hardware. Or previous year flagships which are most of the time a good choice.

Here in my area it never snows. It does snow a little far from here but I’ve yet not managed to go there during winters because of traffic and a lot of other reasons. It does hail a bit in my area though sometimes. For me cold environment like yours would be quite enjoyable. Cozying up in a blanket finishing some new series/drama 😀. I’m sure your area looks lovely outside with sun shining and snow all around! ❄️

I thought the processor on 3A wouldn’t be good enough for gaming, but I’m getting 90 fps in CODM which is gorgeous, and 50 fps in ZZZ. Won’t really notice a difference unless I spend triple the price to get a flagship Redmagic

Same for camera, can’t notice the quality difference with 500 or 600 dollar phones but 1000$ iphone/pixel is much better

I think midrangers are just enough for most use cases and expensive flagship offers huge difference for specific use cases only

Today I’ve got something like this 🙂)) put my Nothingie out of charge somewhere at 3pm yesterday and turned charging somewhere around 1:50 now. Not everyday is an ideal 10-hours cycle as I’m not an ideal user and I still a paranoid a bit 🙂)) it’s hard to me to not put my phone to charge at 30% when I plan to go out because I’m thinking that I’ll lost all my charge😅 so I must go with a powerbank at least

P.S. I changed the wallpaper now and I’ve lost that beautiful olive colour from schemes while setting up the same wallpapers again then🫠 idk how that option works but I guess it’s not working at all giving the same colour schemes for like any wallpapers no matter does it have these colours or not🫠 sounds like a bug of a stable version but this happens like from the purchasing

Anonymous1123 Exactly! I owned a sd650 earlier it was not that strong. And while buying there were so many options so I was like maybe 7sgen3 isn’t that good 🤔 but when I actually used this phone my mind is blown 😳. Not only does it never lag, the only time it lagged a bit was in the app “obtanium” after you install anything from it but that also went away after 4.0 update. It never lags all games run on it smoothly it’s so good.

Yep same for camera. The camera is a hit or miss and there is sometimes a slight delay which makes action shots hard but most of the time the camera is so so good. Though the 4x is making skin very orange after 4.0 the general quality is still superb.

Yes I agree with you here. Midrangers are enough for most people unless someone has enough extra cash to spend I think avoiding flagships is best. Also flagships are getting more and more expensive like just see the Samsung trifold it’s expected to be easily around 2000-3000 USD 😱

themountofmint 3hr instagram and still 8+ sot is crazy! 😱. I’m never getting that if I use instagram that much lol. My phone will be over within 6hr 😅. But on the positive side I don’t use it that much and last I finished charging my phone was on 1 Dec around 7pm and I still have 27% left for today. I think I’ll charge at night or evening today if I use heavy 😀. I understand that feeling paranoid, thinking what if phone dies outside. Honestly I also keep my phone charged when I’m going out. I still don’t own any powerbank yet because I never needed it. And with this battery which can last me the third day it’s even better hehe 😁

It is the same bug which I’ve already sent through feedback. I sent it back during beta 1 update. Unfortunately in response I had some ai slop i think. Exchanged like 5-6 emails with the team but they said it’s the default android function. I was also pretty sure it’s not it’s clearly bugging and it’s not catching the right color from the wallpaper sometimes but the team kept repeating their response and I stopped then 🤷🏾‍♂️. I only had this bug since os4 beta, before that it never happened to me.

FabioR 🇩🇪 my guy how 😱 are you on battery saver or 60hz? Also if you add up those minutes it’ll come around 7hr+ and not 10. It’s a bug sometimes the battery ui bugs and adds up 2hr/4hr of random usage. You can check it if you click each of the battery bar you will see random 2hr usage bar in between.

It’s not about 3A only, but I think all nothing devices have a very bad and disappointing battery back-up.

My CMF Phone 1 also doesn’t last long even after the full charge. I don’t even realize when 80 to 50% gets exhausted.

I have GPS, NFC and Bluetooth turned off most of the time. I am on 5G and the refresh rate is set to dynamic.

My battery saver mode turns on at 20%, that’s usually when I plug my phone in to charge.

Also since it’s winter time I am using the dim display function most of the time.

Temperatures outside usually avarage around 8°C where I live.

PredatorPreys13 seems I also gonna write to the support about this, because I can’t explain how that works. As I remember it didn’t catch colours like all the time I’m using this phone. Maybe a few times it chose right colours, but then something failed and I was getting the same like “standard” colours for everything again.

FabioR 🇩🇪 Impressive! I also keep gps and bluetooth on all the time and dynamic refresh rate. Recently I’ve started using battery saver at 20% again usually I don’t use battery saver I just use normal mode. I also keep display brightness usually under 35% most of the time unless out. Temperatures in my area are 8-22°c which is a lot of fluctuation lol but yea. Also you don’t use instagram I see and also you’re a fellow metrolist user 👍🏾😀

ShagunTiwari Post your battery usage screenshots then the community will be able to help you. Unless it’s a faulty hardware which is rarely the case, most of the time it’s user apps or background usage or something.

themountofmint Yep atleast when more people say the same thing they will check it thoroughly eventually 🤷🏾‍♂️. Also have you downloaded the essential search? It’s available for our phones also now I’ve just got it this afternoon and I like it already plus now it will work with essential space using its “memory” feature 😀. I use essential space a lot. I used to think that OnePlus and oppo had it better with their mind space but then I saw reviews and how it worked and realised essential space is much more functional. Do you use it often too or remapped the button?

PredatorPreys13 I installed it somewhere from Google as it’s not available for me. It only does searching through Google for now and phone directly. I also can’t enable essential memory even though I updated the app

themountofmint Oh is that so? It is available on the playstore officially now I downloaded it from there. And infact I already enabled the memory because I got update for essential space yesterday and then today the essential search became available.
