I recently bought the Nothing 3a and have been trying to transfer my data from an iPhone. I’ve been using the cabled method as prompted when I launch the new Android phone. Everything transfers except for Whatsapp. When I open Whatsapp it remains stuck on Initialising and eventually times out - see photo.

Has anyone else had this problem - if so please can you help?

I’ve done reset the phone to factory settings and done the process 4 times - each time Whatsapp doesn’t work. I’ve also tried deleting Whatsapp from the new phone and reinstalling it after a couple of minutes - same problem. And also force stopping Whatsapp and clearing its cache - same problem.

I was really hoping to leave Apple, but it seems like I’m stuck if I can’t resolve this issue

      Daniel Hi Daniel - thank you for the suggestion - I’ve contacted Whatsapp through the WhatApp app - I’m awaiting a call from them, I’ve run through their steps on what they think I should do - unfortunately their steps have not resolved the issue either.

      Hi, the same for me, i just bought Nothing phone 3a and averything is working except Whatsapp, and as a spanish, no one has another kind of messenger app. Whatsapp support team said uninstall and install again, but nothing. As i see in there are more people affected. Please we need help.

        Hello - thank you for your message - I’ve been contacting Whatsapp support through the Whatsapp app. After a lot of communication, they have said this:

        We know about this issue and are working to resolve it as soon as possible. We’ll share your report with the team working to fix it.

        I’ll post here if they come back to me with a solution.

          AkshayBhatia Hello - I chased WhatsApp support this morning - still no response from them unfortunately. If there is anyone from Nothing monitoring this please can you contact WhatsApp too.

          If I can’t get this sorted I’m going to return my 3a.

            Update - I went to the Nothing Service Centre in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi. I followed the same process to transfer whatsapp and it worked, so please try again probably in a different network/wifi.

              AkshayBhatia Great - I’m glad it worked. Please can you let me know the following:

              • Did you factory reset your 3a and start the process again?
              • Did you do it with a cable - so connecting your iPhone to Nothing phone to do the full transfer of data including Whatsapp?

                  Sidenote - I noticed that Whatsapp have done an app update on IOS so maybe that includes a fix for this problem.
