  • USB preferences greyed out, unable to transfer files, only charge - help

My Phone (2) stopped working a few months ago with a particular USB C drive and I didn’t think anything of it because I was slowing down transferring stuff from my phone physically but I recently realized that it wasn’t just that drive but a few and USB C to PC doesn’t show up.

I’ve tried a few options that saw but non worked, I’m also getting greyed out USB Preferences and “couldn’t switch” when trying to go between This Device and Connected Device. I’m wondering if anyone else has had this happen and can point me to the correct solution.

Solutions that I tried to no success

  • Using different cables
  • Using different drives
  • Using different computers
  • Cleaning the port
  • Enable USB debugging
  • Disabling USB debugging
  • Removing multiple profiles from my phone which I thought that could be the issue because problem started around that time
  • Clearing the cache and data in the Google files app
  • Restarting my phone

Any help is appreciated.

Additional information the drives and cables works with my old OnePlus 9 and my girlfriend’s Samsung phone.

    etidorhpa Thanks but I forgot to add that I tried that and different computers and they all worked on my other phone and girlfriend’s phone.
