There appears to be a significant scam associated with the N-Dialer application, which is not an official app, yet a large number of people have begun downloading it.

Upon personal observation, I have encountered several concerning issues with this app:

  1. The app includes suspicious and unrelated features, such as an embedded calculator, which raises questions about its authenticity.

  2. Initially, the app functions smoothly for about two weeks. However, over time, users start receiving frequent calls from unknown numbers. Notably, all these numbers begin with the same five digits. Even after blocking these contacts, the calls persist.

  3. Another alarming behavior is the appearance of a popup message saying “Don’t pick this call.” Despite this warning—and even without the user answering—the call seems to get connected automatically.

  4. Most importantly, the app appears to be stealing user data. It potentially tracks and records all activities performed on the device between two consecutive calls.

Hence, I urge everyone to stay cautious and avoid falling victim to this scam. If you have already installed the app, it is strongly advised to uninstall it immediately.

JaiminChhatbar There isn’t any scam. N dial is genuine app. And Nothing themselves mentioned this app in their videos. And I very well know the developer. There is no scam don’t worry

JaiminChhatbar Did you attend any of those calls? The developers can’t call anyone. There are plenty of users using it. And they won’t know also who is using and who is not

JaiminChhatbar Hello Jaimin. Ali here, the designer of N Dial and Nothing community member. Let me clarify the questions you have regarding this:

      1. Calculator is a suspicious feature? How? Please elaborate on that.
      2. The app has issues since it’s a system based communication app and we are currently working on an update that will solve everything regarding it’s communication and many others as given feedback from the community. Those frequent calls you’re getting, I get them on a daily basis and the reason is because N Dial doesn’t have spam filtering since it’s an offline app. That feature will be available in future updates.
      3. Don’t pick this call? Never heard of this one mate. Which country? May be if it’s buggy try resetting the app.
      4. Stealing data hmmm. And what are we going to do with your data? We are 5 different people living in different parts of the world. I’m a full time designer in Dubai, developer is a law student and a couple of other team members from different parts of the world. So why would we steal your data? We simply don’t have time to deal with that. 😜 We could hardly find time to work on the apps let alone manage data of 20k people.

So apologies if N Dial gave you the wrong impression but rest assured it’s safe to use and trustworthy. Also reviewed and shout-out given by the Nothing team.

pixcel25 Hehe thanks. That’s fine probably some do it intentionally and others out of ignorance. Better to give benefit of a doubt and explain as much as possible to clear it out. M glad and thankful for all the support from the community. Also happy to report that we are working and pushing for N Dial pretty fast now.
