Hello! 🎭

For those who don’t know, besides being a big tech enthusiast, my first love is Theatre! As such, I am privileged to say I work full-time in a West End Theatre, as a lighting technician/electrician. With my passion of being a theatre lover, I asked the Community Dots holders on Discord if anyone fancied a night in London, watching a theatre show?!

The plans were in motion, I had five responses willing to go, we had settled on the show and then it was time to arrange the date. We had chosen to see Derren Brown’s new show, “Unbelievable!”, at the Criterion Theatre in Piccadilly Circus, London. We had chosen the date as Tuesday 14th November 2023, yesterday’s date, if you are reading this on the day of publishing.

So, in attendance we had myself, Rob, Louis, Derren and Alex! All wonderful people who I have met at various Community Events over the past year. We assembled at Five Guys and Fries, in Piccadilly, after me and Louis had caught Bhuvan in Soho for a quick coffee, always nice to see the man come down from Scotland.

Here is a wonderful image of us, five guys tucking into their messy, greasy five guys food!

Then, we made our way to the theatre, to watch the show, from the third row and smack bang in the middle! Here is a view, with the programme I purchased, and the other four sitting comfortably in their seats…

As part of the booking process, we had to check a box which asked if we wanted to take part in the show…I of course made sure this was checked, as we had Derren with us! Not quite Derren Brown, but we all hoped this would have been a fun inclusion. Unfortunately, despite having my name called out, none of us got pulled up onto stage.

It was a wonderful evening, spent with fellow tech enthusiasts, but doing something slightly different. And something I would really like to organise again, it is nice to share my world with others. Maybe next time, it can actually be a show that I am working on!

A little bonus…one audience member was asked if they had pets, which she did. A Scottish Fold cat, named Greg…we didn’t know what a Scottish Fold cat was, so Louis searched it. We found the answer and also, Google had a lovely AR representation of said cat, which you could scale, far too largely…

Until the next Community Event, or theatre trip…

Haha - thank you Ryan for arranging this, very much enjoyed hanging with some friends from community!

Let’s do it again soon <3

    What an Unbelievable evening! 🥁

As Rob said, thank you for organising this and it’s always a pleasure to see friends. The excitement of your name getting called out was really something!

Looking forward to the next one 😁

Awesome opportunity to meet! Sounds like it was a fun evening, hope everyone enjoyed it (and that you get picked next time 🤞)

Rob ⚡️ Louis ☕️ - Very much up for another theatre trip, for sure! Thanks both for coming. ❤

Kastello Thanks Kastello! It was great fun, and it would be fun if we went to another show with audience participation.

Had a great time, thanks for letting me tag along!

It was my first time going to the theatre since a primary school trip to see Billy Elliot 😂

All i can say is, i never thought a bunch of chairs would cause me so much pain 😂

Derren Wait…your first time since a school trip, in Primary School?! Wowzer!

But those chairs and the ending shall make me question everything for a long, long time! It runs until April 2024 Louis ☕️ - so there are ample opportunities to see the chairs again 😉

🧐I still don’t get how they pulled the one with the chairs….I’m still hoping that Louis will go again and explain it to us.
