Prevent quick settings access when phone is locked
- (Edited)
One downside I’m seeing about this phone(Nothing 2a) is the lack of a built-in option to update the notification bar settings to make it inaccessible on the lock screen.
This absence can be a privacy and security concern for users who prefer to keep their lock screen free from any potential unauthorized access to notifications or sensitive information.
Therefore, the lack of an option to update the notification bar settings for lock screen access represents a notable drawback for users seeking enhanced privacy and security on their Android devices.
Just to add Xiaomi has this option on their phones so why can’t we(Nothing).
***I hope this option will be included on the next future update of this phone(Nothing 2a).
Thank you.
I agree with this thread. By default, the QUICK SETTINGS and POWER OFF options should be disabled on lock screens.
I echo the sentiments shared by the others. Would be an excellent practice to introduce as a default option. Would settle for just a toggle , as have this missing-necessity feature.
Still waiting for this feature. Haha
Third-party apps can be used to block the quick settings and power menu, like Cerberus Lock Screen Protector
Is there any way to turn of access to status bar from lock screen?
You can do it, Your phone version must be 2.5.5 (For Nothing phone 1).
Hello, I need to diasble ability of setting phone when phone is locked, on lock screen.
I need to diasble changes of wifi, bt, data, airplane mode atc. Disable ability to reboot or switch off phone.
There is no options in settings Android 14 claim that there is those option to disable quick setting on lock screen but NP does not heve one.
Is there some app or solution which can solve this security issue?
Thank you for help
In my device nothing phone 2a when making changes from the lock screen does not require authentication to do so, the option to disable the simple configuration option and thus avoid being able to make changes but generates some inconvenience with notifications, if someone could validate this situation and have something closer to a secure lock, nothing OS version 2.5.6
Dear All,
I love my Nothing Phone. But I have noticed when you lock your phone you are still reaching the status bar. I think this is a safety issue, because if a thief get your phone, they will be enabled to put in airplane mode through the status bar or even take into your wallet and see some information about your saved credit or debit cards. I already mentioned this issue many times to Nothing and the last answer was this:
"We appreciate you taking the time to contact us regarding the issue on your Nothing Phone (2).
Upon thoroughly checking, the feature you mentioned is currently not supported. Nevertheless, your inquiry has been duly acknowledged, and we will communicate your feedback to the relevant team for review.
To stay updated on any future developments, we recommend following our social media channels and regularly visiting our official website.
Thank you for your patience and ongoing support"
It a nice answer but I already got this at least two times. On other smartphones (e.g. Samsung) the status bar is not enabled when the phone is locked but there are also models (e.g. Google) which have the same issue. If you agree with me please send a request to Nothing to disable the status bar when the Phone is locked.
Cheers,
Nándor
It was added in latest updates, please check that you’re up to date
Hi,
I have selected pattern lock and finger print for unlocking the phone 2a.
I recently found that even when the quick setting swipe down function is disabled for lock screen in settings it is still accessible on the pattern screen when you do a two finger swipe down.
Am I to disable any more options in setting.
There is an option to disable quick settings panel on lock screen.
Go to Settings -> Lock Screen -> Toggle the Quick Settings option
This disables the quick panel on lock screen, which prevents your phone from turning on Airplane Mode or anything from the lock screen!
a bug in the Nothing Phone (2A). There is a setting that allows us to restrict the Quick Settings panel after the screen is locked. However, when the power button is pressed and held for a while, bringing up the power menu, the Quick Settings panel becomes accessible again.
This defeats the purpose of restricting the Quick Settings panel on the lock screen and poses a potential security risk. Please address and fix this issue in an upcoming update.
Thank you!
