📱 Nothing Phone (3) Just Launched... and Honestly? Feels Boring. 😕

As someone who loves the Nothing vibe — that bold, unique identity — I was really waiting for Phone (3) to hit different. But this launch feels... underwhelming. There's no real wow factor, no fresh energy. It lacks that futuristic spark we all associate with the brand. Where’s the innovation? The Glimpse light was such a powerful design element that made the Nothing phones stand out. But Nothing Phone (3) doesn’t seem to connect with that identity anymore — it feels like it’s losing touch with what made Nothing special. Just being “clean” or “minimal” isn’t enough anymore. We expected more. We expected Nothing. What do you all think? Am I the only one feeling this?

ShehinasB sadly i totally agree with the nothing community vibe here, you all are my brothers! the designers have unfortunately disappeared up their own posteriors with this new phone, its a hot mess of an object, and i just cannot justify it in any way to purchase. I love my 2A milk, clunky camera included. I odnt need mega high specs or pro cameras, just a cool looking objectperfectly priced, and thats where nothing shined, back in the ol days! 🙂

Even YouTuber @shazaam mentioned it, and it made me think — maybe the goal was to get everyone talking about Nothing, whether it’s good or bad. 🤔

CMF1_hacker funnily enough the OP12 is currently on sale in the UK for £499 (with free 120W charger), and specs-wise it beats the NP3 at basically everything. Even has a higher resolution periscope tele with a bigger sensor.

I will say I’ve never used OxygenOS, which might be garbage compared to NothingOS, but purely on specs? Fine the OP12 was probably more expensive when it was new, but unlike the NP3 it’s actually a flagship and is now seriously tempting.

Edit: Also the OP13 is only £19 more than the NP3 right now and absolutely destroys it in terms of specs. If this is what they’re competing with I have to wonder wtf is going on.

ShehinasB When the products were designed with teenage engineering they looked very much brutalist. In ear 1 and phone 1 & 2 the design was mere expression of technical components inside. Phone 2a afterwards the design has become more stylised, almost art deco. A lot of visual elements from phone 2a are on headphones. Phone 3’s camera alignment is bold but there’s so much articulation on back panel for the sake of it.

Phone 1 and ear 1 had nothing in common in their design but still they appeared to have same DNA, their designs were primarily true to the product. Now I think, they are trying way too hard to keep common design language in all of the lineup.

Looks like I will be sticking with my 2a+ for a while 🤣 I personally though the design of the 3a pro was strange but the design of the new 3 is just not for me.Also I use Glyph lights a lot ,pretty much daily to be fair . I might even resserect my np1 from the draw it is in one day 🤣By far the best looking phone

Stop letting weird people, play with what was already perfect!

TheDocHudson I coundn’t have said it better. I will NOT buy this phone because of the degeneration from their original essence.

They went from having elegant, minimalistic and futuristic designs that many called “the android iPhone” to being such a horrendous piece of Nothing.

They decided to listen a bunch of haters, little annoying people who were critiziging the glyph concept and they themselves couldn’t even afford a cmf1. Ignoring their actual fans, and disposing completelly of these elements that marked the brand’s personality.

This feels like a betrayal, and I hope Mr. Pei and the excecutives in charge who approved the removal of the glyphs and the implementation of chaotic and ugly line of designs, deeply regret their desicion.

This brand isn’t anymore what is was for a long time, it totally lost my love and admiration as a fan! And if this keeps going, I’d be happy to see if they end up as they started, just nothing.

i have a phone 2 and i really need a new phone with eSim. i wanted to buy phone 3 soo badly, but now im leaving the brand. magic7pro, op13 or 15ultra are almost same price and way way better. maybe i come back for phone 5 or 6 if the bring back the glyphs

bring_GLYPHS_back If you have N Phone 2 you can use an external eSim (9esim, esim.me….), I use it and it works well

Very disappointed. The thing that bothers me is what will happen to their future phone designs? If they can’t go back to looking more like the phone 1 or 2 then I’m done with nothing as a brand. I’ll probably just buy the pixel buds since they’ll work better with pixel phones. I bought the ear 2 a while ago hoping to someday use them with a nothing phone but… man, just a bit of a bitter pill to swallow to buy a phone that’s more pricey, doesn’t have the glyphs anymore and is just downright ugly. Oofta.
