Introducing Nothing Core (1)!
This has been a very fun project for me over the past couple of months and i very much enjoyed being able to get some of you hyped up in the build up to this post.
Core (1) is named as such because it is a core product of your home and central to some other products that you may have.
Starting out as a collaborative effort, Core (1) was meant to be a TV/streaming box. It has since evolved in that time and while it still retains that initial use case and features, i have taken the opportunity to build it out more.
Users have the ability to stream their favourite content from all the popular services that we know and love. This includes cloud gaming. There will also be cloud media options so you can share all your favourite photos and videos on the big screen.
With an in house OS, Core will also link to your Nothing phone in some incredible ways with some smooth, shared animations. Perhaps the ability to use your phone as a remote or a controller, swipe your content towards the screen to initiate instant casting, display incoming notifications and more.
You’ll notice in one of my images there is a rectangular plate on the top of the device. My ideal use for this would be wireless charging but also some exclusive features such as if you’re watching a video on your phone you can place it down on top of Core to instantly continue on the big screen.
All of this is wrapped up in a package that shares the Nothing design theme that we’ve all come to know and love. Theres also a low res display on the front of the device to display quick info and some cool animations.
