Rob ⚡️ I prefer Switch Lite for handheld gaming but I’ve got just the title for group online multiplayer on mobile: Stumble Guys. It’s a lot of fun and easy to pick up. Includes spectating as well (so you can watch your peers even if you’re eliminated). I think this would be a good one for the community gaming event if one is set up.

When I’ve 30mins to spare I’ll have a game or two of Fortnite.

Has any smartphone manufacturer tried partnering with Nintendo to get a Virtual Console with their huge back catalogue, and do you ever see Ninty releasing their own smartphone (Switch Mini) that runs Android?

fandango ooo thanks for the Stumble Guys tip, I just picked up an OLED switch myself - I think if we try and find a mobile game that runs well on Phone 1 we can ensure as many people as possible can get involved! Will check it out this evening 🙂

Rob ⚡️ yep, forgot to mention it’s not a particularly demanding game so should run just fine on the Phone(1)

sean (1) no for both IMO, Nintendo is already able to use its catalogue to increase Switch sales (via it’s online membership plan) so no incentive to cannibalise it with third-party hardware. Also, re: Android, they’ll have to strip it down to make it performant (Switch hardware is not that powerful, see Android ported to CFW Switches) and at that point, may as well avoid it altogether.

Just to add my love for Stumble Guys! Just installed it today and had a few goes on it. Already addicted 😆 It’s that sort of easy pick up and play game, love that.

Alright fine, you’ve all convinced me! Looks like I need to download Stumble Guys 😆 I’m still on the lookout for some better mobile games! Been tempted to get Stardew Valley mobile for years. Anyone played it on mobile?

        a year later

Mobile games have really grown since this thread first started 🔥

Let’s hear what everyone is playing! I think we can also include things like Steamdeck, Switch etc into this category as they are mobile games 🤔

I still haven’t really explored mobile gaming that much. Stumble Guys was great fun, but beyond that I haven’t really found anything that’s captured my attention long enough to go back to it.

Louis ☕️ I’m in the same boat. I have no mobile games on my Phone (2) at all! Open to some suggestions!

I really struggle to keep up with games on my phone, i download them in the hopes i will pick up and play more often but most of the time i forget about them or dont have the time. I’ve tried again recently though and here is my selection:

          • Roblox (so many custom made levels, its quite difficult to get bored. I also play it with my son)
          • League of Legends: Wild Rift (I’m very competitive and love team based games that actually encourage teamwork. Its one of those games that its actually really satisfying to win)
          • Mighty Doom (Easy pick up and play)
          • Clash of clans (Dont play much but its one of those games that requires a lot of input over a long time. Its also a little annoying to see that my base is being raided every 5 minutes 😂)

My go to games on my P2 are:-

          • Asphalt 9 (great to pick up and just have a race, amazing graphics turned up to the max!)
          • Shadow Fight 4
          • RL Sideswipe
          • and currently playing “Return to Monkey Island”

I mainly have small games on my Phone (2). Something that is very easy to pick up and drop off whilst on public transport.

          Currently playing the following:

          • 2048
          • Papers, Please!
          • Football Manager 2023 - Mobile
          • Solitaire
          • Sudoku
          • Pokemon GO!
          • Game Dev Tycoon

I do have others installed, but nothing played as frequently as above.

In terms of Switch games…playing “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” and getting back into “Pokemon: Violet” before its new DLC drops mid-September!

I was playing Fortnite until a few months ago, but my phone’s memory is all used up so I can’t play anything currently. ☹️

Ealesy101, BOTW or its sequel, TOTK? I’m playing the latter and so far I have helped the Rito and Gerudo, but been mostly exploring.

sean (1) BOTW at the moment. My partner is making her way through TOTK and I have some older Legend of Zelda games to play beforehand. Such as Windwaker and Twilight Princess!
