I’ve only the original nothing ear 1s and my 3a pro (also a nothing phone 1) how’s the watch? Is it as good at balancing tech and life as the rest of nothings products? Went off smart watches cos they are just a phone on the wrist normally and not just a smart watch

dotman I don’t know what kind of earbuds you are using now, but personaly I find the ear (a) to be quite decent for the price. I went from years of using cheap overhead headphones to the ear (a) and it felt like an upgrade.

They have quite decent bass for being such small device and the sound overall is really great.

The noise cancelation is very solid and I would say it’s gotten better with updates (i bought the ear (a) shortly after launch). I would say it doesn’t block out every noise completely (for example in a noisy city you will still be able to hear some sounds), but it works well enough for you to enjoy the music.

Only downside is that you don’t have some of the eq features, that ear (2) has, such as sharing pre sets.

Used to have Ear (1) but sadly misplaced them a while back, but the CMF Buds Pro 2 are an amazing alternative for the price.

Hello there! I have a ton like you haha.

I’ve been exploring a wide range of CMF and Nothing products recently - here’s what I’ve picked up so far (in order of purchase, though I’ll circle back once I’ve got everything gathered and included a photo of the madness? 🤯):

A lot of the buds were picked up secondhand just to test and compare as I’ve been trying to find that one affordable, all-around pair that just works, sounds great, and has good battery life. I’ve also been using the CMF Phone 1 and 3a and really enjoy both, but I’m definitely leaning toward something more flagship-level for my daily driver.

The backstory: I switched from Apple to Android back in February, after being locked-in to the Apple ecosystem from the 3GS to 14 Pro, to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and honestly, I regret it. I’m not a fan of the UI, and overall haven’t had the best experience with Samsung. I also bought the Galaxy Buds Pro 2’s alongside the S25U through Verizon.. they broke, after five weeks with Samsung support, they blamed water damage and quoted me $115 to repair them, on top of the $125 I had already spent on the buds themselves. That whole situation kind of sparked this deep dive into CMF and Nothing.

Now I’m just testing, exploring, and getting more involved in the community, sharing my experiences wherever I can and learning along the way.

I would say it’s a pretty basic smart watch. The thing that makes it feel more Nothing is the OS, but as far as the functions go, it’s the same as pretty much any smart watch.

I personally turned off all notifications from all apps, because I don’t need my watch to constantly be notifying me about things that my phone can notify me about. The functions I do use are the fitness tracking, music control, timer and sometime I will check weather and of course time.

So to answer your question, I would say it’s up to you how much you allow the watch to take control of your life. The notifications are very customisable tho and there’s nothing stopping you from turning them all off.
