I just pre-ordered the Phone (3).
Why? I am actually asking that myself. When I saw the launch, I thought the design was “interesting”, not in a particular bad way, but it certainly didn’t leave a positive impression. I love my Phone (2) despite some quirks, it still looks lile new and works just fine, back in mid 2023 the design was literally love at first sight.
However the more I look at the Phone (3), the more it catches my interest in a good way. Personally I never really cared about specs. As long as the phone is fast enough for daily tasks, the battery comfortably lasts even a busy day and the display not only looks nice but is also comfortable to read in both night and bright sunshine. For my phones I care more about design, materials, overall build quality. Just like the other phones from Nothing to date, the design is different. This time much more polarizing for sure. Maybe even a bold move, I am not sure.
I will miss the Glyph interface we are used to for sure (however I will also keep my NP2 for now) and still think it would have been received much better if Nothing would have combined both the LED Glyphs and the new Glyph matrix together. But I am willing to give the new standalone matrix a fair chance.
