I’ve been enjoying the CMF Phone 2 Pro so far — clean UI, smooth performance, and excellent value. But there’s one thing that’s starting to feel like a major omission: Essential Search.
As many of you know, Essential Search was introduced on Nothing OS as a major feature that enhances the search experience across the system — integrating app results, settings, web, and more into a fast, unified search bar. It’s sleek, functional, and truly one of the standout parts of the Nothing ecosystem.
However, despite CMF Phone 2 Pro running a near-identical OS (Nothing OS 2.6-based), we still haven’t received Essential Search. I’ve checked for updates regularly, and even after the latest firmware, it’s still missing. There’s no clear communication on whether it’s coming later or if it’s intentionally skipped for CMF users.
🟠 My questions to the team/community:
Is Essential Search planned for CMF Phone 2 Pro?
If yes, is there an estimated timeline for the rollout?
If not, could we get some clarification on why it’s being left out, especially when the OS experience is meant to be similar?
Really hope this feature isn’t being held back just to differentiate the Nothing-branded phones — the CMF user base is growing fast, and many of us are pretty enthusiastic about Nothing’s ecosystem.
Would love to hear if anyone has received it or spotted anything in beta builds or APKs!
