Kyubendo Do you even know the difference between both the chipsets you dimwit 😂. Both are the same chip prior to etching the silicon. Due to production variances one gpu core on the non pro is disabled because of yields. For all intents and purposes that chip is a18 pro with a faulty gpu core which gets fused off and disabled. Comparing the 8s gen 4 which is a 4nm part to a N3E part is dumb. If you had to compare anything the best comparison is comparing the different 8 elite skus the one on some foldables actually have a big core disabled, 7 cores vs 8. Thats basically the a18 pro vs a18. They’re cut from the same cloth essentially, which isn’t the case for the 8s gen 4.

8s gen 4 is not even remotely the same chip (it’s not a cut down version of anything it’s its own thing) compared to the normal 8 elite or the 7 core 8 elite, Nor does it come with the same die size ie production costs or power efficiency of the 8 elite.

Kyubendo https://browser.geekbench.com/ios_devices/iphone-16. Geekbench is crossplatform the antutu scores aren’t cross platform that’s why they’re in a separate section on their website the score nevertheless is 1.5 million.

But if you consider actual cross platform stuff like geekbench which also works on x86 single core on any m series chip is 400ish points above a 8 elite. 8s gen 4 meanwhile with its measly 2k in single core is not even in the same playing field.

8s gen 4 is a crappy chip that qualcomm dialed up power targets and core config just to match a 8 gen 3 at a higher power envelope. Every phone using it runs hot, Now that the embargo is up a reviewer actually got the NP3 to 63°C in a test.

Which I’m pretty sure falls beyond the normal operating temps for the batteries.

Kyubendo they’re produced on different manufacturing processes, why compare them as it’s evident that a 3nm process is far superior to a 4nm process, expect when it comes to cost per 1K units.

As an analogy, I’m eating salmon for lunch: should we compare: Waitrose No 1 Wild Alaskan Salmon (£41/kg) to Waitrose No 1 Scottish Salmon Fillets (£26/kg).

Sure, we can do it, but why expend the effort as everyone already knows the conclusion …

In my lunch, with roasted New Potatoes and Kenyan fine green beans, either salmon works fine and I wouldn’t notice the difference. But it does exist, however, it remains unnoticeable unless I’m a fine salmon connoisseur (which I am) but I’m OK with the half-priced version as it meets my expectations.

I’d rather spend my personal money on another NV A4000 card as an example.

CMF1_hacker Users do not care about manufacturing processes. They care about real-world performance. You can build your cpu form mars rocks, but if it has worse performance it doesn’t matter.

Kyubendo most people I know care about real world performance per Watt (or real world performance per mAh), which is much more real-world than flat-out performance as battery life matters and really 36 hours of usage is the minimal standard these days.

I really, really, like the SD 7 series SoCs compared to the SD 8 series SoCs as they’re much better to use IRL than benchmark racing. The battery life is usually much better.

There are no surprises here with the NP3 in terms of chipset used. I’d rather have the GlyphMatrix + button and a 8s4 than no GlyphMatrix + button and an 8elite at the same PP.

The real selling point of the NP3 is NOTHING OS, in a similar way to Apple primarily being a software company.

MukeshR I don’t follow the INR market price. I do follow the EU/USA/UK prices and feel that it is fairly priced.

Sure, I can get a Xiaomi sub-brand with a better SoC and then have other issues.

I also have a One Plus 12 in the house and will need to compare cameras (they’ll both release at $800/£800).
