Actually, it’s not as clear-cut as you make it out to be at all. The 8sg4 is actually more efficient than the 8Elite at low W (and better than the 8Gen3 at all W). And higher W, the efficiency tales behind other chips (this test must be pulling a ton of W). In day-to-day usage the 8sg4 might even be BETTER than the 8 Elite in terms of performance/battery life depending where it residues on the curve (NOTHING was quite smart to save the cost and go with this chip). It will not be better in this test set-up though. I have attached an excellent screenshot showing that comparison.
The entire video is worth a watch and makes the argument you are attempting to make in a more elegant manner by discussing cores/architectures/etc…
