"Reverse" Screen Burn-in/Image Retention

Has anyone else observed this behavior? After approximately three days of usage, watching Youtube or gaming with static UIs the top half of the screen has a black bar from the status bar. The image from the following reddit posts describes it the best:
1. Phone 3 Burn in
2. Phon 3 “Reverse” Burn in

The “reverse burn in” already appeared on my screen after three days of usage and some long gaming sessions. It might only be faintly visible for now, but this might change for the worse with time. Is nothing aware of this issue? I have already reached out to the support. And YES I have turned the device off for a while, and or used those “anti burn in videos” to try mitigate the issue with no success.

I’m one of the reddit posters. Did support say anything about this? Is it something they are looking to fix or just an issue with the phone because I don’t want to swap the phone under warranty and have it happen again a week later

If you tell me how to test for it, I’ll do a test? Nothing has stood out but I’m likely not picky.

It is easily reproducable by watching a Youtube Video (in portrait mode) or any application for that matter, that creates a black line cutout for the Status bar. Meaning the Top pixels are completly black, while the others show the video or other content.
If you do so for an extended period of time and check the screen (best with a solid grey image), you will see a faint line appear on the screen where the status bar starts.

I have created a ticket with the support, so far only an Ai generated auto response….

I know this issue might not be as severe as overheating issues or other problems, but Nothing should take an official stance on this as the product is not even out for a month….

OK I just tried this with my Phone 3, display is still fine no issues. I did in the past have a 2A get burn in pretty quick, like within a month, but so far the Phone 3 display has been great for me.

Got the same issue here with my Phone (3). Seems to be image retention for now but I’m extremely concerned with the display behavior when wireless charging. It’s being caused by the screen staying on at full brightness when wireless charging.

I can confirm that it is image retention, BUT it took almost 3 days for it to completely resolve. I am extremely concerned as well when it comes to the longevity of the display. I have returned my Phone (3) for now and issued a replacement on Amazon.

Trainer_ I’ll give it one more chance if the next Phone (3) behaves the same, I will probably switch brands. It would be a shame, as I really like the built quality and finish of the phone.

someguy yeah man I’m in the exact same position. I love everything else about it, but I’m a person who keeps phones for 4-5 years so it’s just really concerning.

Dude. I can understand anything from the posts, can you post a phone with and a phone without "burnin."

Right now it looks simply like a crappy camera taking photos.

I was watching a video and decided to check the comments. I ended up noticing some very noticeable retention issues or potential burn in too. The constant issues with phone are slowly making me regret even buying the phone.

What’s your average screen brightness?

X0R I keep mine between 15% to 45% at maximum. No auto brightness.

I haven’t got this rn, as I guess, because I don’t remember that I ever noticed something like this. Using 3a. Earlier I’ve got this on my Galaxy A71 and I don’t know, sadly, how long did it stayed burned tbh, because after 3 years this screen got a green/pink tint because of falling out, then this phone was about a years owned by my dad and I noticed it only in 2025. I’ll try to check did something happened to my previous Nothing but I guess I’d see this already if that burned…

Btw, both phones have amoled displays.
