First 24 hours with the Watch 3 Pro.

Ive gone through all of CMF's watches. There were things I really liked about the previous two, but this one is the first one to feel actually finished. Its still the same basic interface - swipe up for notifications. Scroll through for widgets. Crown button for more apps. It definitely feels more refined this go round, however. Theres tons of little animations that happen, little haptic ticks when scrolling through things or swiping through. Its definitely noticeable how finished it feels. Theres even a double click shortcut option for the crown. The new watchfaces are nice, and the animated ones are interesting. I hope theres more. Maybe another round of community ones like the first watch had. The widgets have also gotten an overhaul. Most are one per screen now, though there is still an option for a four to a panel like previous watches. Overall, the widgets feel more nothing, and actually bespoke. Ndot is everywhere, they're unique, they provide information in new ways that are ultimately intuitive. They have animations. And, for the sticklers, the music widget has been updated to actually show album artwork (see second picture). The weather widget is a new favorite of mine. I went for the dark grey/orange one, and Im not disapointed. Its pretty much black (which I wanted), textured, and flat. It definitely feels a little more premium than the Watch Pro 2. I briefly used the included band, but since Im a sweat monster I switched to my go to canvas strap. The included strap seems fine, and they mixed up the shape of it, so its a little fancy. I cant say too much on the sensors yet, but there are more of them, so thats a good thing, right? Sleep tracking last night was perfect, though Ive never had any complaints with the accuracy or that for me. It also breaks it down better. Overall good - The software upgrade is great. The new screen is great, the bezels are tiny now. The build quality feels unique. The integration with Nothing X is awesome. The battery life so far is nuts. I wore it from 9am yesterday to 12pm today with decently heavy use, and only used Overall not great - The size is teetering on too big. I hope they dont go any bigger. Theres no real "wow" thing about it. No killer new feature or anything. The voice transcribing is cool, the essential news widget is OK. But I just feel like its missing a big wow addition. When the leaks had it having an essential space button? Thats pretty good. Even some functionality between the voice transcription and Essential Space would be cool. Not enough new watch faces, but thats more of a personal opinion. Should you upgrade? If you have a Watch Pro and are looking, sure. It blows the first gen watch out of the water. A Watch Pro 2? I mean, personal choice. If you're unhappy with it and expecting a huge change, you'll still be disapointed. If you want better sensors and better workout tracking, go for it. If youre like me and just want the pretty new thing, you probably wont be disapointed. If you're happy with the Watch Pro 2, keep it.

JoeDissolvo The Essential Space integration you talked about would be very cool, since we have something similar with the Headphone (1) and its channel hop button. That can be remapped to essentially act as the Essential Key from what I remember. Adding an Essential Key option to the double-tap on the crown could be cool.

I just wished they would use something like WearOS, so you can use it as a payment option or use messaging apps ect.

Have you checked the accuracy of workout tracking. Eg gone for a walk and tracked it with both watch and phone for comparison. Or gone for a ride with a bro and seen how his garmin compares?

shafi_22 Compared to my Garmin it loses around 20m per km. So a 10km run returns around 9.8km instead - not terrible, but room for a bit of improvement if you’re relying on it for accurate distance (which at the price point, I’m not sure many are). Anecdotally checking my HR during an activity it seems to be within 1-2bpm of my Garmin, which is excellent – although I have hade issues with HR never syncing to Strava, and 1 of my 4 tracked activities only recorded max and average HR in the Nothing X app (despite providing good in-the-moment HR readings during the activity) so still a few bugs around that need fixing, but based on previous bug fixes (or there lack of) it might just be something we need to live with. Watch is still more than adequate though for casual wear - enjoying it, just a few software issues stopping it being great!

Hi, tell me, have you fixed the bug with the volume? If you open the player widget and turn up the volume, the volume scale remains, has this been fixed? How does the vibration feel compared to the 2 Pro? I have 2 Pro and I’ve almost finished them off, so I’m looking for a replacement.

JoeDissolvo What a great review, but I honestly don’t know if I should change my Watch Pro. I like the square design more than the circular one, and the only thing I use it for is changing the music Check the time and see the messages, what do you recommend?

Weird that you have a good experience with the battery life and I drain mine in about 1.5 day. Still have to find out if it’s a certain sensor. Maybe the 24hr heart monitoring?

JoeDissolvo I love all the points you hit in this post. Especially the point where it teeters on a bit “too big”. I just got mine in yesterday. From the images online it didn’t seem like it would change much. But it physically feels and is visibly larger than the pro 2.

I do like how they did expand the widget screens to 6 pages instead of 4, and honestly the interchangeable bezels was neat but gimmicky from the 2 so I’m glad they went with a solid design.

Overall though, I think you hit every notable point to be made. Hopefully nothing continues to support the 2 Pro as that’s a solid device still.

Honestly voice transcribe feels like out of Q Lab like mam imagine telling the james bond of 1970s who had a knife in the watch , a literal gun and now internet in the palm of your hand man and I only say this tor nothing because nothing ’s deaign philosophy is utterly unique something that james bond would love lol. I might get this next year in my birthday because I already got an analog for myself and a phone 3a pro , hehe. Just imagine a watch 3 , vintage edition with a unique design or old deaign with killer features

I really like how the Watch 3’s workout detection now starts the workout from when it began (i.e. 10 mins ago) rather than from the notification! My watch 2 didn’t do that. It’s one of the features I missed from my old Apple Watch.

Hi. How is the font size when receiving notifications? I have the Watch Pro 2 and the font size is pretty small. If they either made it larger or provided a way in the settings to make it larger, I would upgrade. Thanks.

Josh3ber its definitely a bit bigger than the Watch 2. Theres no way to customize the size, but Im sure its big enough for most people. Id guess probably a 2 to 4 point font size difference.
