People buy brands not product.
Not everyone. But yeah, you’re right. Some people would buy Tommy Hilfiger or Ralph Lauren clothes just so that people can look at them and be jealous because they have so much money to spend on expensive clothes (although in most cases they don’t have a lot of money, it’s just all for show), vs. the smarter person who buys good off-brand clothes for ⅕ of the price but same quality.
I’ve been a Pixel fan for years and years, even before they where Pixels I was a Nexus fan. Up until now that I got a NP3. By your logic, if I just bought brands I would have waited an extra month to get the Pixel 10, all my ecosystem is with Google, it would had made sense! But no, Pixels no longer make sense to me, the design doesn’t wow me and hasn’t changed much in years, the phones get better each year but just marginally, etc, etc. So I bought a NP3, and I can honestly tell you, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.
At first, when I saw the pictures I too thought it was awful. I couldn’t believe that was the design they came with, I was at the brink of buying a 3a. But I gave it time, the design grew on me and I just went for it. Worse case scenario I could just return it can get my money back. But I instantly loved it, the quality of materials, the amazing design, the unmatched software experience. So now, I’m a self-declared Pixel convert to Nothing fan.
