Nothing Phone (4?) concept

So today i spent some time on photoshop to work out an idea i had about how to evolve the Phone (3). In the same way the Phone (2) utilized the same idea (the glyphs) as the Phone (1) and made it more advanced i decided to take some of the features i really enjoyed about the Phone (3) and think about the next step up. In my opinion a great thing about the Phone (3) is the ability to have some basic phone controls available without using the screen using glyph toys. I would like to expand on that and make more options available without using the screen. Firstoff i made the glyph matrix bigger, instead of a 25x25 circle grid i upgraded it to a 50x25 grid, this gives it the ability to display longer words as well if that would be needed (think about song titles for example, or written reminders) The placement of it is more centered in the phone as a nod to the centered cameras of the Phone (2a) and the Phone (3a). Then to control the whole thing i added 2 more capacitive buttons and moved them all to the bottom of the phone which (designwise) was a little bit empty on the Phone (3). These buttons have been styled like the buttons on a field recorder, cassette deck or any sort of media player/recorder. these buttons will obviously be able to start, pause, skip or rewind your media, but will also allow for more in-depth glyph toys and make them more usefull, again working towards the goal of using your screen less, and having less opportunities to get distracted. MarcelAlexandru I think i get what you mean, slightly lower the middle one so they kinda form a slight diagonal line?

Maybe then that could be mirrored in the buttons on the bottom, but that might be too much

i would’ve expanded the glyph matrix as large as the AniMeVision on the Rog Phones and slap it on the top center….and build the camera layot around it….i would also bring back the Glyph lights as it is a perfect reinvention of a normal flashlight….also i’ll try out new colorways….some design really do look good (for example the “Dark Flare” colorway of the Infinix GT 30)

I think it’s a nice design.

The problem here is the glyph buttons, which I also don’t think need three and that the third one will only get in the way, and they are also much too low so it won’t be comfortable to press them.

And I would also add the regular LED strips that were on the older models, I think it adds convenient functionality.

Thought you would get the glyphs back, but looks like the community is fine without them? I personally would never forgive nothing to remove the glyphs.

The only problem with this is it’s evolved version of Phone (3). Id rather have a proper evolved Phone (2)

Joepiedoedel I am very much happy that the tilted camera illusion and the glylph Matrix are still there on Nothing 4. I could understand why you would change it totally to something which even more Awesome looking in the future models but I was hoping that it stays on Nothing 4 !

Very much happy that such designs are given credit, this is where nothing becomes The Nothing!

Great IDEA on the media buttons.

Not a nothing user yet, still an artist who sees your design has the pull to it by its unique designs. To be an user once Nothing 4comes out !

Maybe the cameras can be square (only the outer corners ofcourse ) and give it a picasso inspired look and also make it a mini 😭i want it to fit my pockets

Joepiedoedel concept is good the way you used glyph matrix but I rather not have buttons in back of the phone.

I dunno. It looks boring. We should look at the video with the 4(a) blurred out and see if we could deconvolute it to see what’s coming.

The NP3 looks much better than this, sorry, mate.

Joepiedoedel I really prefer this design over the current 3 model, it’s a step in the right direction. The only thing I’m not keen on are the 3 buttons at the bottom, mainly as an aesthetic thing.

I like the direction your design is headed specifically resonate with a more symmetric camera layout and enlarging the glyph matrix, which could be more useful to users and developers at large. As a use a clear case on my Nothing Phone (1) I would struggle to use the haptic buttons on the back of the phone, so am not going to be one to advocate including this novel idea. In my opinion, this would need to be rethought and reworked. All the Best.
